He is currently doing a pre-season with the cats and being a former falcon has a good chance of being drafted by the cats..

Why was he delisted and what do fremantle fans think of him?

Cheers! ;)

He was delisted because of list management issues, where I think our players that we picked up last year Schofield (absolute hack), Stribling, Copping etc. were given two year contracts. This meant that they all could not be delisted this year unless thier contracts were paid out. Stribling was delisted but is probably going to be put on the rookie list for next year, but Schofield and Copping IMO have less to offer than players that were delisted in Andrew Siegert, Dion Woods, and Dylan Smith.

I think Siegert is an honest performer who contributes quite well when in the team but, given the list management issues it was probably no surprise that he was delisted. I don't think in an ideal situation that the Dockers would have let him go. I like him as a player, I think he was a bit of a favouite with the fans but we have alot of similar small defenders. Geelong will do well to pick him up in the pre-season draft IMO. Good Luck to Him! :thumbsu:

Drunk...didn't know that...but it doesn't surprise me.

As a player...he was probably best used as a tagger in midfield, but hasn't had much with injury when trying to cement his place. Though comparing to the taggers on Geelong's list, he wouldn't be as good as a David Johnson for arguement's sake.

A good back up to be on a list

Can he lock down on small forwards, like say...oh...Nick Davis for instance.

Rooke finished the year as our run with player in the middle pulling Judd's pants down and following it up in the finals on Travis Johnstone. David Johnson will more than likely take over Sanderson's position in the back six, he was going well down there before doing his hammy once, twice, three times. Siegert could be a handy player for us I reckon.

No, he's not quick enough for small forwards. He can tackle though. Just ask Wojinkski.

He's got a strong body and a big tank and reasonable foot skills. I don;t think he is all that strong overhead. He's probably not in Geelongs first 26 but if you want a depth player who you know can come in and get the job done in a tagging role or HBF then he's your man. He's a also a good club man -- I think he was captain of Geelong Falcons in his time there.

He just doesn't have any particular talents to have him stand out from the crowd. He doesn't have the pace to go with a Judd or Johnston. That's why he was overlooked in the draft and has never really held down a place in the seniors. But there are a lot worse players on some lists.

I think he could be alright if used in the right spot or maybe off bench, back up player perhaps but worth looking at.Maybe being delisted might spur him on a bit more as it does a lot of players.
