Quite difficult, just couldn't get the distance right. Tried it again after shooting some more and got 2/5 :)

If you can shoot 8 & 9 you don't need to change ;)

Here's my results, *I haven't played for 2-3 years and haven't shot a hoop for at least 1, barring my 4 year olds 5 foot hoop. Historically in a game I'd be a 50-60% free throw shooter, never been coached.

Here's the results, Normal followed by underarm

Normal 4/10, 7/10, 7/10.
Underarm 4/10, 6/10, 7/10.

I then played a pick up game, great idea at the time but the old bones are sore today, and went back again.

Normal 2/10, 2/10, 6/10. Massive tendency to go left when tired, my golfing theory tells me I'm not getting the right elbow across enough.
Underarm 8/10, 8/10, 7/10.

I then had a rest with one more go in fading light.

Normal 8/10
Underarm. 4/10

So nothing conclusive, but the underarms are a lot more consistently straight and the roll is a lot friendlier, just have to work on getting it over the front of the rim. I still believe the Shaq's/Howards of the world should give it serious consideration.

Total Normal 51%
Total Underarm 63%

I'll give it another go next week.
 
Im not the greatest shooter going around, but my results were much better using the Rick Barry method.

Normal - 4/10

RB Method - 7/10

Normal - 3/10

RB Method - 6/10

Normal - 4/10
