There's been zero improvement on last year. Won the same fixtures as last year and have failed yet another road test against a 6-12 ranked side.
Dawson and Rankine have gone backwards, and our attacking game plan has been found out with no plan B to change things up. Season is cooked and I'm not going to bother watching another Crows game until the club is gutted. Enough is enough.

Sorry guys but last week was not some great example of our ability to defend and win a hard contested game. It was not an example of Nicks tweaking our defense to fix our weakness
It was just a shit game in bad conditions.
Immediately reverted to the mean, which is Nicks being unable to beat most of the league's coaches

The most annoying thing is, if we even showed slight competence that qtr we wouldve kicked at least 4 or 5 goals and be close enough. Can't believe some of the misses.

Dawson’s kicking has gone to hell (no idea how he got 8 votes last week)
What happened to out fast play?
Curtin not really showing much. He really does not seem a forward. He also needs a good coach.
We give away a lot of dumb frees
We can’t tackle.

There's a lot to say, but it boils down to the fact that we still do not have an identifiable, consistent game plan with standards. Nicks' tenure has been: three years of randomness but excused somewhat, then a season of crazy high scoring but no defence, followed by a complete switch to defence first but couldn't score, now we start with a month of blistering attack, then now we can't score again.
That is a failure of coaching. Nicks is still coaching like he's in his second year and "just working through some things". This is his SIXTH season. It's time to go.

When your midfielders let theirs do as they please.
When your defenders play 3m off their opponent when the ball hits the deck.
Turns out that isn't a winning combo. Nicks is utterly shocked.

Nicks thinking 'if only I'd selected Murphy to keep shape and do those non statistical things'
I never see Nicks do anything in the box except gaze out the window. Every other coach I see talking, discussing, analysing, responding, making moves. Not our bloke, just gazes

Got kind of annoyed with hearing 'well actually there probably wasn't a lot in that' from the commentators what felt like a number of times while showing a replay of a Fremantle free kick.
The ugly
Freo all over the ground waltzing through doing whatever they like, absolutely cutting us up. Particularly their midfield, lost count of the amount of times it looked like we pressured well and laid a great tackle and they pop their arms free and shoot the handball out to continue the chain. Brayshaw and Serong specifically have killed us.
Woeful conversion and set shots killing any chance we had to wrestle some momentum back.
I know at Optus is often a different story, but we've really made a team that has looked quite average and stagnant for much of the season, look like worldbeaters tonight.
