depends on what your looking for,you can upgrade ram for pretty cheap at the moment though

Either do it soon or wait until after Xmas
Evidently there just happens to be a shortage of RAM around at the moment (just before Xmas!!) and prices are rising almost daily

Depends what sort you want. Last week I added another 512MB for $180. As Gonzo says, RAM will be selling quickly now and prices may rise. Look up www.adelong.com.au to give you some idea on prices. 
The price rise has already occurred. Two weeks ago a mate of mine bout himself 2x256MB of RAM for $45 each. I went this weekend to the swapmeet and they were $60 each

I don't know anyone who has more than my 768MB - so I guess I'm that idiot for now. (depending on what M29 added the extra 512MB to!!!) It's fabulous. Photoshop never seems to run out of RAM, and my PC seems to cope pretty well with having lots of things open at once. I got my machine in may/june of last year (01) though, so it was pretty pricey... closer to a dollar a meg.

We have 256mb ram I believe at the moment.
