That was the incident McVeigh was up for, soft, definately.
Both received reprimands (not sure of the points they were penalised though) - so free to play this week which is the good news.

Pretty sure he can still win Brownlow. Just based on Adam "Can get away with murder" Goodes being given just a reprimand last week and still eligible I believe.

It was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). Now, there is no way he deserved two points for high contact, it looked like he didnt even get him in the face

Everytime one of our players go up, they try to screw us. They have to be blind or delibrately trying to screw us.
There's a bloke who grabs another man's private parts, he gets let off. There are blokes (Kerr/Goodes) going around trying to snipe others, but gets let off.
But something like what McVeigh did, they need to load him up with points, incase he comes back again, so they can suspend him.

In Perth's news tonight they showed the 3 seperate incidents Kerr was let off for. All IMO were as laughable as the Spike/ Fev incident.

The AFL today advised that the Match Review Panel has assessed the following incidents from the weekend's round of matches. Essendon stars Adam Ramanauskas and Mark McVeigh have both been charged with striking offences.
Charges Laid:
Adam Ramanauskas, Essendon, has been charged with a Level One striking offence against Eddie Betts, Carlton, during the third quarter of the Round Three match between Essendon and Carlton, played at the MCG on Saturday April 5, 2008.
In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 45 points towards his future record.
The incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 80 demerit points and a reprimand. It was the view of the panel that Thomas tackles Bassett as he kicks the ball. Thomas went to his knees in order to tackle Bassett to the ground and the momentum of both players forces Bassett forward. Thomas had both of Bassett's arms pinned, so the Adelaide player was unable to brace his fall and Bassett's head hit the ground. Thomas' tackle was considered to be a single motion, rather than a tackle and then a sling to the ground. It was considered to be different from the exampleshighlighted to clubs in the 2007 Tribunal DVD, which was seen as two different motions within the tackle. Therefore, the action was considered not unreasonable in the circumstances and therefore not reportable. No further action was taken.
Contact between St Kilda's Robert Harvey and the Western Bulldogs' Jason Akermanis from the fourth quarter of Friday's match was assessed. An investigation was conducted by the panel into an alleged low contact incident. Based on all evidence, including that of both players and the umpire, it was determined there was no strike or grabbing motion to player Akermanis. There was accidental contact as Harvey pushed away to regain his feet. No further action was taken.
Contact between North Melbourne's Daniel Harris and Hawthorn's Brent Guerra from the fourth quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. The contact made by Harris was deemed to be accidental and no further action was required.
Contact between West Coast's Daniel Kerr and Fremantle's Josh Carr from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Due to the lack of sufficient video evidence, no further action could be taken.
Contact between Fremantle's Des Headland and West Coast's Daniel Kerr from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Due to the lack of sufficient video evidence, no further action could be taken.

The problem was that it was Intentional. Brendon no doubt made it look worse than what it was but nevertheless it was intentional. Im glad Mark only got a reprimand cos i thought he would get 1 game.
