Well Ramprakash has been recalled & he's now challenging Graeme Hick for the most drops/recalls in English Test match history.
He's got an abysmal Test average of about 27 (which lowers to a scary 7 at Lords his home ground for 15 years) & yet he averages 42 against the Aussies.
So do does anyone think he will go well in this series or is it just desperation by the selectors. For those of you that don't know-he is a real stroke maker in English cricket but shove him into a Test match & can't hit the ball off the square. His trouble is that he obviously can't relax & play his natural game but if he hasn't learnt to deal with it now I doubt he ever will.

Ramprakash is probably Englands best bet, at least it's not Hick who is the greatest dud in history, he can score 400, 300, 250 any amount of runs at county level then s h i t s himself at test level.
Back to Ramprakash, he puts a bit of value on his wicket which causes him to freeze up when playing test

Dipper, could you tell me a bit about David Fulton, he was 1st to 1,000 runs this season, I know he struggled last year but form must count for something. It would not be the 1st time England stacked there top order wiyh openers.
Apart from that wheel out Kim Barnett or maybe Rob Bailey, they have both made recent runs and have not played a test for 12 years.

Go Aussies
Stretch

Ramprakash reminds me a lot of Martyn. Both lovely strokemakers, both not really doing enough early in their careers to justify the wraps they had.

Though Martyns finally fufilling his promise, guess this could be the last call (though this is an English batsman so i guess last calls go on for a while longer than you may think) at test level.

He has all the shots in the world, if his mind can reach the mettle required theres really no other reason why he shouldnt become a competent test cricketer.
