That's great news!Had an audiologist appointment today and finally got confirmed for and ordered my hearing aids! Can’t wait for them to arrive to find out what I’ve been missing out on for ages.
I’ll pose a question to those who might know, out of curiosity and now that I’m out of uni, if I was to wear them in an exam, would I be asked to remove them under the electronic devices ban, or would they be allowed as removing them can arguably be considered discriminating based on disability? The devices are somewhat necessary, but they also have Bluetooth connection to phones and can play music/ receive phone calls.

Surely it'd be discrimination to ask you to take them off. It'd be like asking someone with glasses to take them off. I didn't realise hearing aids had bluetooth capabilities, that's actually really cool, but it's not like you'd be allowed to keep your phone on in an exam so you wouldn't be able to use those features anyway unless you were blatantly cheating.Had an audiologist appointment today and finally got confirmed for and ordered my hearing aids! HearosSurely it'd be discrimination to ask you to take them off. It'd be like asking someone with glasses to take them off. That said, I'd be switching them off. My hearing gets hypersensitive in exams, and I'm the sort of person who gets really peeved at little sounds and chewing and the like. Every single exam, without fail, I'm next to someone with a lingering cough or loud sniff. I saw someone wearing hearos in an exam last semester and I thought that was genius.
Out of interest, has hearing loss been a recent thing for you or something that's been affecting you your whole life? What made you decide to go to the audiologist now?
Legend.I have a friend who had hearing aids and was allowed to wear them into his year 12 VCE exams. Whilst he could've used them to his advantage, he essentially just listened to bangers through every exam.
Hearos
I can definitely see myself doing it at work, and maybe when I’m teaching, but I’ll have to wait and see for that. Shame I don’t have exams anymore to share your friends ideaThat's great news!
On the second part, I have a friend who had hearing aids and was allowed to wear them into his year 12 VCE exams. Whilst he could've used them to his advantage, he essentially just listened to bangers through every exam. To me, I reckon it would've been a distraction, but I'm not the one with the hearing aids! Would be worth checking with your university/school etc.

It would be considered discrimination, and hence why I posed the hypothetical question. Because at the same time it’s a device that potentially can give an advantage. My uni this year banned Fitbits (smart watches haven’t been allowed for a while) without telling students so I had to get rid of mine during an exam.Surely it'd be discrimination to ask you to take them off. I feel that MAFS makes arranged marriage into a joke. Firstly, yes, arranged marriages last longer because it’s common in Eastern cultures for this to take place. It’s a normal thing for someone like me. And values, morals and beliefs are different to someone from a Western culture. Secondly, a big flaw in the show is that to create “drama”, they put all the couples into the same scenes together. This would never happen in real life.I've walked past the tv, seen there is a show breaking down tonight's episode of 'married at first sight' and now I've lost all hope for humanity. I feel desperately sorry for anyone that needs to have reality tv explained to them.

Why would they want to mention Eastern cultures?? It would not look good for the show. They never even mention Eastern arranged marriage, that practice could never exist and I would still guarantee that this MAFS concept would have been thought up by now. It’s so far removed that it wouldn’t even be on their radar
