What do you guys think about the FFA Cup?
Who will win? Which team will perform best (non a-league)?
I'm going for mighty Rockdale Ilinden to do good this year.

It's a fantastic idea and well thought out and planned. It should really last for a long time if run properly.

An A-League team is likely to take it out, but if I am to choose a lower league team to win it would be either my old favourite NSL team Sydney Olympic, or my local representative team the Macarthur Rams.

I'm not sure if you go to NSWPL games but there is a lot of multicultural teams. And its going to be good for the lower teams because it gives them a boost. Imagine having for EG Brisbane Roar vs Rockdale Ilinden at Ilinden's home ground. The ground will be packed with Macedonian supporters.

Nah, don't frequent them, but I am fully aware of the ethnic divide between teams, both from following the old NSL and also refereeing junior rep games and running the line on senior games years ago.

I hate how there's only one SA club being allowed to qualify when NSW has 9.
Sure, they've contributed more to Aussie football (isn't that how they decided how many?) but come on, SA and NT will each have one spot next year

Was going to say the same thing about ACT, but realized no one really cares.

Apparently, Major League Baseball doesn't like Australian soil. SCG now has American clay on ground.

"Because of the geology of Australia, we just couldn't come up with the same material that was up to MLB standard. We weren't able to locally mix the materials despite the efforts of three technicians that are experts in these sorts of materials. For the pure fact of the geology of the Australian soil and Australian rock is different to that in the northern hemisphere, we just couldn't do it.

"Hence why we had to bring it in from the States and follow special quarantine guidelines. We spent six months trying to do it here with at least 10 trials with the three different specialists in the field."

I fail to see how that's a bad thing.
SA has a team, NT does not. WA has a team, they have 2 spots. We should have at least two.

Here's what I think should happen:
1 A-League team = 2 State league spots
0 A-League team = 1 state league spot

NSW - give them 2 out of the 3 A-League teams in NSW = 4 teams (semi finalists in the Waratah Cup)
Northern NSW - give them 1 of the 3 A-League teams in NSW = 2 teams (finalists in NNSW State Cup)
Queensland - Roar = 2 teams (finalists in Canale Cup)
Victoria - Heart and Victory = 4 teams (semi finalists in Dockerty Cup, as is)
SA - United = 2 teams (finalists in Coca Cola Federation cup)
WA - Glory = 2 teams (Cool Ridge Cup finalists, as is)
ACT - no team = 1 team (winner of Federation Cup, as is)
NT - no team = 1 team (winner of their cup, as is next year)
Tas - no team = 1 team (winner of Milan Lakoseljac Memorial Trophy, as is)
NZ - Phoenix

16 State League teams
10 A-League teams
So a Round of 26. 1v2, 3v4 etc. The 3 best placed losers will play a round robin tournament to get into the round of 16 and everything else is as it currently stands :thumbsu:

I think there was a previous knock out competition before this one, this is a group of who is left + the A-League teams.
