RIP Nelson Mandela ... geez they dont make em like that very often! iconic. To live 95 years after what he went through....

Testament to the man... imprisioned for 27 years, tortured .. then gets out and immediatley forgives the very man that tortured him and makes him a minister in his government. Respect.

How could the country not move along and try to reconciliate after that show of heart?

RIP

On that note, an Australian arrested in the UK for stopping the boats has avoided deportation back here because Australia is too racist:

Yeah it's pretty bad. I'm not a fan of Julian Assange for the same reason. He basically admitted he r*ped that woman but won't answer for it because he thinks he'll be sent to the US.

Dunno about that.

The charges are pretty much a joke from what I've read.

Pretty sure two women found out that he was seeing both of them at the same time and then weeks after the event they both decided to go down to the police station and say he r*ped both of them, and then one girl posted on her twitter after going to the police a "7 step guide to getting revenge on a cheating partner".

His lawyers have admitted it all took place, it's just the threat of extradition that Assange is afraid of. There is a Guardian article somewhere with the quote from his lawyer.

Is it weird or wrong to feel no real empathy when someone you know dies? Just found out a guy I know died, not someone I'm super buddy buddy with or anything but if I see him out I'll have a chat and a laugh and he's pretty good friends with my good mates but sorta without sounding too harsh it doesn't really register with me to think much about it.

I guess sometimes it's a reflex response our brain gives because it dosent want to delve into the hurt when it's not absolutly required.....let it go thru to the keeper til it's a close person then you can go thru the what is life? Why are we here thoughts...

Or I could just be waffling

Yah I dunno, been pretty much the same when I've had grandparents die and stuff - it's just more annoying since I can't really relate to the ppl that do obv care a lot about it. Funnily enough only time I've ever really got upset with death is when I've had my childhood dogs put down on seperate occasions. Oh well, prob not worth putting too much thought into.

I'm kinda the same, don't let much out at all, just kinda get on with things....without dealing with them properly. There is probably a volcano of emotion that will erupt one day, or send me mental....Stupidly I've sulked over football or weird things like movies but not actual humans dying! I'm convinced it's a defence mechanisim cause I'm scared of what it feels like to deal with stuff properly.....

Death really gets to me, and I find it odd when I've been at funerals only to see others not showing any pain or suffering.

Everybody handles it differently though..

I'm pretty composed at Funerals. The only time I've cried at one was when I was at my 3rd funeral in 2 weeks and I just couldn't control it
