Must asay tha Raph had a great end of '08, and hopefully can continue it into '09. along with Fish, Gram, Goddard, Max the backline should do well next year.
Now all we have to do is worry about midfeild delivery to a messy forward line.

Stuff the backline, put Sam at CHF. Did you see his goal, 50 out and it nearly went over the top of the posts, and straight through the guts.
His kicks always seem to be reliable!
He can always drop to the backline ( Roughead style ) if required.

Yes I did see it, had a great veiw of it from the Members wing, gave it a fair old roost. Now you point it out, we have such a strong backline we can probably afford to put Fish up forward, or even alternat BJ and Fish at CHF.

BJ and Fish would be our 2nd and 3rd best marks in the team, (behind Roo of course). An probly our 2 best kicks. Seems silly that we haven't played them up forward a lot more often, although we never probably had the chance with our injuries in years gone by.

But it's definitely something we should try.

It's all in the head for Raph. A good start to the game and he gets better and better as he gets more confident. His hard running in the 1st term to link up was exceptional. However after he made his first error either late 3rd or early 4th he seemed to go back a bit and be unsure what to do once he got the ball for the rest of the game.

Will be a very good player :thumbsu:

Well done Raph. Your last 2 months have been excellent.

I would love to see him tighten up the defensive aspect of his game and really make that half back flank spot his own.

yeh another fine game although id like him to work on his marking there was a couple of times where he should of taken the mark and although he got in the road of the hawks forwards he spilled the mark and ther lil nuggets were on it straight away. if he can strengthen that aspect i think he can become a sam fisher type and im very happy tosee him finally developing. i always knew surely there must be some talent when you get drafted that early!

I'll bet you are thinking of the one which led to a Franklin goal. Should have been a free to Raph, as despite Campbell Brown only having eyes for the ball all he did was swing a roundhouse punch into Raph's chest from front on. Cannot work out how this is different from an arm chop. If this is not a free kick can we then train all our players over the summer to forget about punching the ball and just punch them in the guts.

Spot on Squizz man. I screamed at this decision. I was absolutely ropeable. Raph's arms got hooked and he was done like a dinner. Tough times when you take front spot in a contest and still don't get rewarded.
