1 star = terrible. 5 star = excellent

I don't understand why a thread can be given a 'gold star' but be seen as terrible.

Yes I know that, but if someone takes the time to rate a thread as being 1 star, does that mean they think it is so bad that they have to voice their disdain by voting as opposed to not voting at all? IMO a thread with a 1 star rating is worse than a thread with no rating because someone has taken the time to actually rate it as terrible

and yes I am very bored at work

I've rated two threads myself today, including a 1 star for this thread , but no I cant see who is rating all of the threads.

Khan closes any threads he rates as 1 star, so not him.
There are a few 5 star threads, and I don't think peejay can count that high, so not him.
A few ratings have changed as often as RT changes his opinion, so he could be the one.
