Hi All,

To capture our perspective and ratings at this time of year looking forward to 2008 and beyond. Apologise if something similar has been done prior but keen to get a picture on your views on the following. I would suggest a rating out of 10 for each of the variables below and a quick comment next to each. Some additional questions after that.

I have used my opinion on each as an example:

Playing List...............7/10 Promising - defence question mark
Coaching..................7/10 Positive outlook - like Ratts' style
Defence...................5/10 Could be very good or very bad
Mids........................9/10 Great midfield - many quality options
Forwards..................8/10 Good optionality - reliant on Fev
Ruck........................5/10 Weak point but promising youth
Off Field...................8/10 On the up - great team and pres
Depth......................7/10 Genuine competition in 2008 for places
Future.....................8/10 Very rosy with core young group

3 players who are most crucial to our year in 2008
--- Judd, Fev and Waite

3 Players at the crossroads in 2008
--- Russell, Bentick and Cloke

2008 will be the breakout year for
--- Gibbs

Surprise packet of the year
--- Grigg

No. of wins in 2008
--- 11 (call me optimistic but I feel pretty good about this year)

Wooden Spooner for 2008
--- Bumbers

2008 Premiership
--- Geelong

Big mover in 2008 (apart from the mighty Blues)
--- Freo (may finally get Top 4)

3 players who are most crucial to our year in 2008 - Judd, Fev and Stevens

3 Players at the crossroads in 2008 - Russell, Bentick and Hartlett

Surprise packet of the year - I'd say Grigga aswell

2008 Premiership - Geelong

Big mover in 2008 - Brisbane

Playing List...............7/10 Defence is only question mark
Coaching..................6-7/10 Time will tell.
Defence...................4/10 Defence is weak, no doubt.
Mids........................8/10 Not quite WCE midfield at its best yet
Forwards..................7/10 Fwd line is functional. Fev can have bad days.
Ruck........................4/10 On current ruckman that will play (Hackland) it is very weak
Off Field...................8/10 On the up - great team and pres
Depth......................6/10 We still have 6-8 players that need delisting
Future.....................8/10 Very rosy. Still need 1 star KPP player (CHB/CHF) and a gun defender for mine.

3 players who are most crucial to our year in 2008
--- Judd, Fev and one KPP defender to stand up.

3 Players at the crossroads in 2008
--- Russell, Bentick and Cloke

2008 will be the breakout year for
--- Murohy (breakout as an elite player, not just a good player)

Surprise packet of the year
--- Jamison

No. of wins in 2008
--- 9 (between 7-10 is good chance)

Wooden Spooner for 2008
--- Bumbers

2008 Premiership
--- Saints, Cats or Hawks

Big mover in 2008 (apart from the mighty Blues)
--- Doggies (They have recruited reasonably well for their weaknesses.)

Playing List...............6/10
Coaching..................6/10
Defence...................5/10 But we have promising types IMHO
Mids........................7/10 Gibbs and Murphy are still young and Stevens is coming back from injury.
Forwards..................7/10 Not sold on Waite who is inconsistent and has terminal brainfades
Ruck........................4/10
Off Field...................9/10
Depth......................7/10
Future.....................8/10

3 players who are most crucial to our year in 2008
--- Judd, Stevens and Waite.

3 Players at the crossroads in 2008
--- Blackwell, Bentick and Ackland

2008 will be the breakout year for
--- Paul Bower

Surprise packet of the year
--- Russell

No. of wins in 2008
--- 6-8, but injuries to key players would obviously hurt us more than any other side.

Wooden Spooner for 2008
--- Bulldogs - I don't rate them at all.

2008 Premiership
--- Geelong

Big mover in 2008 (apart from the mighty Blues)
--- St Kilda - but back down the following year because they're NQR and have a few old timers such as Hudghton, Harvey and Gehrig.

Playing List...............7/10 Still lots of room for development
Coaching..................7/10 Obviously improved lots with the department of Pagan, and Ratts seems to be doing a good job
Defence...................6/10 The additions of Armfield, and Browne could help, and Waite could also help out. Still needs to be worked on, but future could be bright with the likes of Setanta back there. Still need key defender, whether that is Setanta or someone else, is not yet known.
Mids........................8/10 Currently about the 5th best midfield in the league with lots of room for development.
Forwards..................7.5/10 Capable of kicking lots of goals but could look weaker if Waite is down back, and there is no dominant key forward player.
Ruck........................6/10 Currently rather weak, but with the likes of Kruezer, Hammo and Aisake, future could be bright.
Off Field...................8/10 Seem to have good leadership
Depth......................6/10 Still some players on our list that would struggle to get a game on the top teams of the AFL
Future.....................9/10 Has the makings of a great side but still needs a key forward and key defender. Some great young players and a big possibility to win flags from about 2008 onwards.

3 players who are most crucial to our year in 2008 - Judd, Fevola, Setanta

3 Players at the crossroads in 2008 - Bentick, Russell, Houlihan

2008 will be the breakout year for - Shaun Hampson

Surprise packet of the year - Dennis Armfield

No. of wins in 2008 - 8-10

Wooden Spooner for 2008 - Richmond or Essendon

2008 Premiership -Geelong

Big mover in 2008 - St. Kilda

They made top 4, two years ago

Funny no-one has mentioned a ruck as being most crucial to our success.
IMO if one of Aisake or Hampson take a big step up this year and compete, or even if Cloke has a full season, then we will be a very different team this year.

i.e. If we can give what is becoming a very good midfield unit first use of the footy more often than not, our forwards will have it easier, and so will our defenders.:thumbsu:

Playing List...............7.5/10 Young group - consistency will be the key
Coaching..................8/10 Not sure about some of our assistants ability
Defence...................6/10 Enough height and talent, but young and unproven
Mids........................10/10 Awesome and just going to keep getting better
Forwards..................7/10 Very reliant on Fev and depends where Waite ends up
Ruck........................2/10 Worst in the comp
Off Field...................Whatever - I know some duds that look great on the track
Depth......................7/10 Midfield is fine. Other areas are not
Future.....................9.5/10 Arguably the most promising list in the comp
