The news if true that we are about to retain Brett Ratten as an assistant coach would be the best news we have had in a very long time, and if so the taking of Bryce Gibbs at no1 is even more important as Ratten has the nous to build and mould the best midfield in the comp, now all we need is Kreuser in next years draft and look out to all opposition midfields.

To all the nay sayers over the last week or so it is now time to get on board and start thinking positive, the re-signing of Thornton and now Russell for 2 more years along with the possiblity of getting Ratten back to the club shows that the current administration is heading in the right direction and we all need to get behind the club and stop the upheaval that has rocked us for the last 5 years. I am far from blameless when it comes to critisism of the current administration but it is now time to come together and restore the club to its rightfull place on the top of the heap

It is looking like there might finally be some positive moves afoot down at MC Labour Park and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter by the day. With a few more positives in between now and the start of next year we could well be on our way to increasing our membership back to where it should be (above 30,000) and start attracting back to the club the sort of sponsorship that we deserve.

What could have been another in a long line of disasters for the club a week ago with the possible defections of Thornton and Russell has now turned in to what could be the biggest turning point in the last 5 years of pain and heart ache from disaster after disaster.

I think we all owe the current administration a big thank you for hanging tough under the enormous pressure that was brought to bear from outside and within the club to cave in to blackmail and coersion which they steadfastly refused to do, thereby resecuring us some of our lost pride and honour and sending a strong signal to the rest of the competition that while we might be on our knees at present we will not be spreading our buttocks for anyone to come in and rape and pillage our great club, and by making this stand now they have set us on the path to redemption as a powerhouse club of the magnificent entity that is Australian Rules Football.

And it looks like Fraser Brown is going to drop his board challange now that Ratts is back in the fold...

Ratts, 2 years as Pagan's assistant coach then when Pagan leaves the club he will step into the top position. All the experience Ratts has from coaching lower levels will now get the first class polish that I said that he needed :D

Awesome news...

Funny that hey...

I think that the fact that his contract as an assistant coach is exactly the amount of time that Dennis has left at the club is also amazing :D
