these are the points why i feel ratten is not up to it:

1. drops houlihan. in our best 8 players for the year and if you don't think so, then you just don't watch carlton closely enough
2. has a guy named brad fisher in the two's. a more than capable footballer and at his best a very very good AFL footballer. also dont like paying reserved players around 300k
3. cloke is useless and has been given to many chances. 3 worst on grounds given by 3aw in six games, say no more
4. jordan russell possbly the biggest joke to represent the carlton football club, yet continually gets a starting game each week
5. heath scotland was dropped for 2 games this year. who do we think we are n who does ratten think he is to drop a guy of his calibre
6. carazzo has 46 possessions yet he has to get the 55 the week after to get back in. his first vfl performance didnt cut it :0
7. at no point this year has he picked his best available 22 for a game, always leaving someone out who is more capable than another
8. how naive he was against hawthorn. this is just how stupidly he thinks - ohhh hawthorn are tough in clearances and sewell is a big body so i will play this guy 'bentley' who is the same. pitty bentley is no better than VFL average, whilst hadley sat in the two's. think about it F*ck
9. same theory applies this week when he played hampson because he is tall and so is sandilands. well the glaring issue is that HAMPSON IS FOOTBALL ILLITERATE!
10. YOU ARE COACHING YOURSELF TO AN EARLY SACKING!!!!!!

p.s to the ratten lovers who feel he is flawless and does nothing wrong are going to think i am just a basher because we are losing. open your eyes and realise these flaws because they have been going nearly two months now and are costing us badly and is clearly the common dinominator to why we have lost more than we have won.

I think you are a basher because of the thread title.

If you were the slightest bit interested in being constructive and having your view taken seriously you wouldn't have called our coach a w***er in the thread title.

I would suggest you grow a set of balls and go and call Ratts that to his face rather than hiding like a coward behind the anonymity of an internet forum.

1. Houlihan was underperforming and needed to go back there and learn to win his own ball. He got a lot out of the VFL game as he couldn't get a kick early but then got into it. He needed his game "re-programming". Was it for disciplinary reasons?...
2. Is not that good, has had injury and kicking issues that he's had to sort out as well as developing his defencive game. He might be ready now for a return.
3. yes, he can't play, this point sticks out like dogs balls.
4. Yes he's currently but was alright against Freo, still did bad things. Should be developing in the VFL IMO.
5. Heath was not fit, it looked obvious he was physically struggling.
6. Valid point, the MC showed very little balls and smarts here.
7. Yes i agree but it's a matter of opinion.
8. I agree.
9. Yep Hampson is no good. We used Kreuzer and Hampson wrong. We needed to Ruck Hampson more and play Kreuzer forward. I worry about Ratten not playing Kreuzer forward.
10. If we don't perform then Ratten may as well go. Then we need to find a new coach, do we take a gamble on a young one? Should we try and pinch Collingwoods coach? Hmmmm...

I have a feeling we are over rating our playing group. We have a shocking forward line and we still have holes in defence. Ratten might not be great but he hasn't that much to work with at the moment.

Did so in a game where we were beaten in the tough stakes by the Hawks and where Houlihan shirked it. He didn't drop him after he had a pearler did he?

How much he is on is neither here nor there. His cons are widely known and it is a matter of waiting for others to drop to his level for him to get a game or waiting for him to elevate his game. He may well be in line for a recall, sadly because of the former reason. To bag Ratten for him not being in the side is ridiculously shortsighted.

Yup, form drops and if there is someone able to take your spot, you go out. That's how it works. Somehow I think that if Fisher was in the side and Cloke out, you would have made the same call in reverse.

And for many of those weeks, did exactly the job asked of him. Needs a rest now however.

Dropped him after he was out injured, came back and was ineffective and underdone and we were in form so believed we had someone to cover him. Are you sure you are following things very closely?

46 largely ineffective disposals by most accounts. Quantity does not equal quality. His next hitout was much better ... in he came.

Silly silly statement. Our best 22 is always going to be based on form and balance. When you have our fringe players playing inconsistently week to week, how the hell can you judge if they should be in our best 22 or not. You set them a task and if they achieve it, they get a gig. If they don't, then the coach is right to expect more and leave them out.

All you are saying here is that you have differing views on the best 22 each week to Ratts, and think that Ratts should select the team you want. Why the hell did you not interview for the coaching job?

Bentley was tearing it up in the twos so he got in on form but got stagefright. It's not as though he got in because he was a big body only.

Once again, Hampson had good VFL form and that was rewarded. Not to mention the fact that he replaced O'hAilpin who was never going to ruck against Sandilands and that Hampson has previously jumped all over Sandilands in a practice game a while back. Just because it didn't work does not mean the intention was not correct or that someone else would have done better.

10. YOU ARE COACHING YOURSELF TO AN EARLY SACKING!!!!!!

giving him that title is simply 'anger' becuase i feel it amazing how as a player he was so modest and smart yet as a coach he seems arrogant and dumb. two complete contrasts.

I don't overrate our list at all. We are not blessed with the depth of other sides, therefore to pick our best side can be somewhat bleeding obvious. ie scotland or russell, bentley or hadley, houlihan or russell. These are simply choices in which he goes against, to our detriment.

this is a serious question, and don't think i'm jumping ship already, but will ratts be sacked if we don't make the 8? i know he's still reasonably new to the caper, but i think anything less than final 8 finish will see the end of him, the reason i ask is because if it is the case and the players love the coach so much and wanna play for him, then they have to get there act together and show some real fight and ticker, i didnt detect any passion in our display last night, i know the year is dedicated to pratt but they should start playing for the coach, i dont think we can lay the blame squarely on rats, he obviously has a game plan in mind but our execution is poor and our decision making woeful atm

Ratten is in the second year of coaching, you cant do this job in 2 years, it takes at least 4. Clarkson has been at Hawthorn since late 2004 and achieved 5 wins in his first season in 05 (Rattan achieved 10). He achieved 10 wins in his second season in 06 to finish 11th where we finished in Ratts first year and they then finished 5th and then won a flag in his 4th year.

All this talk of Ratts contract and his coaching record is rubbish. Get a grip and wait it out. It takes a few years not a few months.

The threads on this board are getting worse. I wont be around much longer if they dont improve. I dont care if we just lost the unlosable game. I thought this board was for SUPPORTERS.

Do you people understand what supporting means? I dont think you do. You know what barracking is, but not SUPPORTING.

Im not jumping on the hate Ratten Wagon however switching Waite back to defence in the 3rd had me scratching my head after he had presented so well in the 2nd. Also if (and its a big IF) Fev wasnt fit to play he shouldnt have been selected.

Apart from that the loss was down to the players, they looked flat and tired.
