Hall at his best will be a serviceable player. We unfortunately have enough of those. The only reason he is still around is that we have no depth and hence we have a 3rd string player playing a key position for us. Not bagging him...just stating the facts. He reminds me of Johnny Howatt in that I always used to say that as long as he held down a spot in our team we were never going to be a good team. Players like Hall try very hard and there can be no doubting his commitment...just that we will not go anywhere with Hall holding down a key position. I see him as a back up ruckman coming off the bench. For f*ck's sake though Richmond, get a ruck coach and teach these guys how to play the position.

I agree with the people who say Ray hall is a versatile player - he can fail to play well in every single position on the field. Now that's being versatile.

He's not quite a forward, not quite a ruckman, not quite a defender and not quite a midfielder.

In other words, he is not quite right.

A back-up player at best. Given the duds we have, keep for next year.
