Wallan played Diamond Creek today. There was no scoreboard and no one kept score so I'm just guessing with the results.

18s were defeated by bout 7 goals.
Ressies defeated by 12-15 goals
Seniors defeated by 3-4 goals.

Seniors was a good game with some of our recruits the stand outs. Sammy at full forward would have kicked 5 or 6. We had bout 6 senior guys out, but I'm sure diamond creek would have had a few out aswell.
Hurstbridge at home next Saturday.
 
After what I observed today can't see Macedon wining too many games. Lost to kyneton by 10 goals, would have been a lot more except for the fact the Kyneton boys played the last quarter with only 16 players on the field. With kyneton having 8 senior players not playing who will be a walk up start round 1, Macedon would need a lot of improvement to be competiive this year. I think the more worrying sign was there 18s forfeiting and the reserves requesting to play 16 a side even with a Top up of under 18 players. What are people's thoughts.

We played Kutunga, very good signs in both games. No scoreboard but we walked away with a very healthy win. D and K Murphy superb all day as well as our former Backman turn ruck. Not a bad day considering 80% of my forward line didn't play. Who was the ambulance for from the Romsey game?

who were Rupo's best. And who did they play in the ruck? I saw Ata went to the Lions on the RDFL website???? Followed Barry? Did they lose any other key players???

Bout time one of the leading clubs took a slide if you ask me, and as much as I have a lot of the time for the friends I have made thru footy involved at Macedon I don't think too many rival clubs will be feeling sorry for them. In most leagues it goes in cycles, in this comp the bottom sides push to within reach of 5th-6th then slide again, so to see a genuine (regular) 3rd-6th drop for a year wont harm anyone

How's your club looking King? Hit out against Yea yesty what were your thoughts? Few people are asking when are you gunna "man-up" and give us an identity so we can make our own assessment whether you're are in fact the King or the court jester?

You're obviously not aware of the Iceman as "sniper" is one thing he is not :thumbsdown:

Rupo had good players all over the ground. Stand outs were all the defensive lines and big Ruggy up forward who finished with 6.4 in swirly conditions and an oval that was on an angle worse than a downhill ski slope. Purcell and Wilson rucked all day and were serviceable. With the on ball brigade this year down at the tank Mugsy Bogues could ruck for them and the would still get their fair share of clearances.

Been a long time since Macedon have won a flag though Doona, think I would prefer to see one of the premiers of recent years take a slide instead. And don't bother even responding to Kilmore King, he's an embarrassment to the real Kilmore supporters.
 
Lancefield had a round robin on weekend with Woodend, trentham and Talbot and both side had a win in crap conditions. Seniors missing seven of their first players so hopes are good for the upcoming season. Newlyn next week we will see how that goes
 
clearance page looks busy still plenty coming into the cmop which good. story on kilmore in todays paper. will the change in presidnet this late have an impact in the focus onfield? heard one of the new guys who lpayed down here against Diamond creek on the weekend played at kilmore. think they said his name was head does that sound right? how does he go will he play seniors at wallan?

Deano what did you think of our full forward in the reserves BW. I think his marking power and leading is brilliant. You would have to be impressed with a few of the boys on sat, ie Leigh Erwin, Travis Mills,Lerch, etc

Hey boys sounds like Romsey are flying. Glad to hear the comp are gaining some class players.as far as Broadford goes yes we have recruited a few good players but we have also lost some. We have a 3 year plan to be pushing for a flag but we are still a mile off the big boys. You can quote me on this but Baz won't be playing round 1

I beleive the most talented I eva saw was johny fitz from gissy. Then followed by matt davidson from romsey. The one that promised so much at a young age and was destined to become number 1 but unfortunately received a career ending leg break was adam arkinstall. Another superstar in his own right from yesteryear was phil chapman from gissy. absolute freak.
but in current times yes theres been leigh james, the powerhouse aaron james, chris meacham, micky allen and the only player that I have ever admitted publically that I thought was better than me in my prime michael werner!!!!! Draw your own conclusions guys, its hard to compare eras but its a great topic of discussion for a horribly boring footy thread

The North Bendigo boys have tapped into their Woodened connection I see snagging young Shippy, good get for the Kennel, not so good for Woodend. Cal would the guy you refer to be Trav Hede (head)? I heard a few weeks ago there was a chance he'd bob up there, should be Kilmore's captain right now if you ask me. Either way will add a bit of interest to the Rd.1 clash.

No Hally Rd.1, you can pencil in the 4 points now Mongrel ;)
