Please can a coach from the Dockers teach Michael Frederick to leap for marks off one foot rather than a vertical leap with both feet together.
It is a basic part of the game.
If you jump vertically, you give your opponent more space to punch the ball away from your hands.Your hands do not reach out in front as happens with a one foot,or leg jump.
Off one foot, your arse goes back towards your opponent. One of your feet goes back as well, also giving protestion.Your hands are out in front of your eyes. You land on one leg, you are ready to propel away once landing.
It is a basic I learnt way back in my junior football in Boulder.
Freddy is the only player I have seen try to mark like that.
A basic coaching thing.
