Re:Post -- 2006 Toyota Grand Final Ticket Allocation

Reposting this thread due to forum database crash from the other week...

Not one to jump the gun - a reminder for Docker members tomorrow;

2006 Toyota AFL Grand Final - Info for FFC Members

Thought I'd share with you for those interested - Well I received my 'official' pre-register letter from FFC outlining what will happen should Freo get there @the 'Gee'.

Firstly it states that approx.22,000 tickets are allocated to the two teams competing in the GF.
--------------------
We are under no obligation to pre-register for the GF tickets. If we do not take up this opportunity to pre-register, the AFL club allocation that has not been secured will be made available to members via TicketMaster.

Seating Category----Adult--Concession
Premium-------------$189--$120.70
Prime----------------$168--$108.10
Standard------------$147--$95.50
Standing/Restricted--$126--$82.90

* Eligible FFC Members who have 2006 Reserve Seat/Full Club Membership.
* Members wishing to pre-register for a GF ticket, need to indicate their intention via TM's automated phone service from 7AM[WST] Wed-20-9-06 until 9PM Thu-21-9-06.
* $5 charge per ticket/per membership fee
* Maximum 8 tickets per transaction, ie 8 barcodes will be accepted per transaction

If Freo qualify for the GF;
* Members who registered their intention on 20/21-Sept to purchase a GF ticket will automaticall be charged the ticket amout once it has been confirmed that FFC will participate.
* List of successful account numebrs will be posted on teh FFC website or Ticketmaster website by 1PM Sun-24-9-06
* Tickets can be collected from all Ticketmaster outlets in Perth/Melbourne from Mon-25-9-06
* Tickets must be collected by credit card holder, who will be required to sign at collection also to produce respective membership cards used in transaction.
* Rejected credit cards will be followed up on Sat-23-9-06/Sun-24-9-06. Any credit card payments that have not cleared by Sun-24-9-06 5PM will be made void and returned to the ticket pool.
* Members who choose not to register, MAY have the opportunity to purchase tickets not taken from priority allocation during the above process. This opportunity will occur on Mon-25-9-06 and will be by phone only to Ticketmaster.

If FFC do not quality for the GF;
* Ticketmaster will not charge members for tickets, however the $5 registration fee will be retained to cover admin costs.

Please do not contact the club by phone to check if you have been successful in registration or to check seating details, as unfortunately we will not have access to this info.

Re: post

Trying not to get ahead of myself....

BUT

Making inquiries about airfare and accomodation etc..

Airfares are currently selling at the 1k - 1.5k mark one way. But I rang Qantas and if a WA side makes the grand final, they will probably put on more flights and the prices should drop to normal.

Accomomdation if I go over I will be staying in youth Hostels without a doubt.

Hopefully I will be able to meet up with some other "poor freo supporters" there and find some boozing buddies :)

This is all reliant on of course if freo make the grand final.....So...MUST PUT ALL THOUGHTS / PLANS OF HOW TO GET THERE OUT OF MY HEAD.

Wont be easy :(

It is cheaper to fly Perth->Sydney->Melbourne for the GF.

Re: post

anyone up for driving over with me? to hell with paying 1000+ for a ticket

Re: post

It's hard not to get too far ahead of yourself.

I'll call up tomorrow morning and reserve a ticket just incase we make it. After waiting this long for a possible shot at the premiership, I want to be there no matter what. I have had a look at the flights over to melbourne and if you can spare a week or so it looks like you might be able to get an $800 - $900 return ticket... but other than that it might be a struggle. I'm hoping that Qantas or Virgin blue put on extra flights. If worst comes to worst we'll be doing a massive roadtrip.

I have a brother in Melbourne, so that takes the stress out of having to find accommodation. I guess you've got to think about these kind of things incase it happens.... but we've still got to get past the swans first, which will be a pretty hard task. But if you intend to go to the grandfinal I would ring up and reserve your tickets tomorrow, if you wait any longer you won't stand a chance.

Re: post

Exactly lads... I made enquiries after the Demons crash and was able to get 27/9->3/10 direct flight/return for $1220 on VirginBlue -- however that looks like its gooooorn :(

Qantas had them up to about the $2100 mark with a stopover in Brissie!

I agree man... its worth the $5 to get a reserved seat and if Freo don't make it - then your Subiaco beer [$4.80] is kept by TM7...

BUT Remain positive as that is what the boys will be playing for! To bring the flag/trophy home to its very first stay at Freo!

There is a roadtrip happening with Crikey Adventures, $1800 -- everything included except the GF tickets; http://www.crikey-adventure-tours.com/bus-hire-afl-grand-final.html might seem a little stiff but you get accomodation and food with that!

How unreal will that be?!?! Either with Dockers only or with Eagles supporters all crossing this big land to go to the big game!

Re: post

I originally had a flight to Adelaide booked for next Monday and I intended on driving across to Melbourne (it was about half the price as flying to Melbourne) - I swapped it for a flight to Sydney on Thursday, and i'm flying onto Adelaide on Monday again. I figure if we don't make it i'll go to Melbourne anyway for a week for a holiday.

Re: post

This may sound a bit silly but it's not really, given the situation, but if you have a passport, look into flights that go from Perth to Singapore or Bali to Melbourne. They are cheaper than the indirect flights around Australia.

I heard that last year WCE supporters were doing this last year. I've tried to have a squiz at flightcentre site but not sure how you would do it! :(

Do you really think tickets would be difficult to get for the GF if you don't allocate them?

Re: post

Hey guys, im crossing fingers you wont need to fly - BUT aren't you glad you are playing on Friday? You will have a whole day before the weagles supporters to get a flight. Book him out of going to the grand final.

Re: post

Managed to get through first time this morning and register my details without a worry. Now its up to the boys on friday night!!

Re: post

After multiple attempts, I just got through.

I was hoping that being in Vic would make it easier, but I don't think it did. I guess all the calls end up at the same call centre.

Re: post

I was under the impression it was first in best dressed.
Or is it just everyone that registers get's put into one big ballot? And they draw from there?

Sabre - as I heard from Sports Central last night, if Freo get in, an allocated ticket will be issues from those members who registered - first to last. I think they said there was a total of either 7,000 or 13,000 members who registered yesterday.

As the documentation sent out said by FFC, stated it was open today for registration until 7PM WST??!?!

Ah ok
I know people that registered today.
So chances are they probably will have to be in standing room right?

From the doco;
* Tickets will be allocated from the highest price seating through to the lowest price seating.
* Please be aware that the club receives a certain number of grand final tickets and that if the number of pre-registrations exceed this allocation, there may be some members who pre-register who are not able to secure a ticket.
