After the Richmond game I thought our coaching group would of realised that the games we have won, we have played ugly and stole a few games.
The top four finish is now a dream, making the eight is a priority.
Player and supporters expectation of Fremantle was premature in thinking we were in this bracket. While the situation at the moment sucks, adversity will make this group mentally stronger as a team.
We also get to blood new players, who would in a ideal world be playing WAFL.
Sometimes you have to go backwards, to achieve your objective.

I think it was a bit rich to consider oursleves top 4 material at the start of the season. I must admit, I thought with a bit of luck, given the perceived evenness of the comp after Collingwood, we might sneak into the top 4 by the finals and we still may, but it was more wishful thinking rather than rational thought. Once the season started I still wasn't convinced. Geelong game aside (which we lost ironically) and maybe Nth, I don't think we've played super footy with any consistency any of the games, certainly not 4 quarters worth of footy.

Also, the wins have been a bit flattering realy. Bris, Crows, Bulldogs and Nth are hardly setting the world on fire. I didn't expect a win against the Tigers and I certainly thought the bookies had it wrong for the West Coast game as well. I don't think the club itself were ahead of themselves, but many fans and a good part of the media were.

Very few teams, especially ones with predominantly young lists like ours, can take that sort of injury list and perform at the level that is top 4 material - and even with full list, it's far from a sure thing that we're really up to that level anyway, though we should be.

Unfortunately, as annoying as those two losses have been, they certainly should bring our expectations back into some context.

Our best 22 when firing, can match it with the best of them.
Unfortunately 6 or 7 of them were watching from the outer last week.

I don't think anything this year from our boys has been a reality check.
We were always only top eight and with the injuries we have, are were we should be. It will take time and as one team has shown atm (I shall call them voldemort) that it doesn't take much to turn it around in a short time.

We have the cattle, just got to herd them in the right direction!

All the talk on here since last season, media, people you meet all talked up our chances, even Collingwood supporters had us as a threat to the premiership.
This does have an effect on everything Fremantle, and I think we expected things to play out this way.Even with injuries our coaching staff, players got ambushed in the last two games.
All is not lost this year, and things can turn around quickly, if we can be honest as a group, Essendon have alot of their best 22 out at the moment
as well and are travelling okay.
This little setback may be the kick in the arse we required to make us a better Team.
