When I hear Hawthorn talk about how this year has been a rejuvenation or rebuild because they've blooded half a dozen players I laugh. Their best players are still their old players who are still running around. We've retired most of our old players and brought in our young guys as regular players. Can't quite believe how we've managed it. Now they all have 3 finals under their belt and ready for a crack at the big one. Carn the bloods.

Flag or not Horse has been unreal this year... look at sides like GWS, Bulldogs, Geelong, Adelaide... based on last year their trajectory was only ever going upwards. They had OK/good 2015 seasons that could be built on this year. We were pretty average in 2015. Went out in straight sets, our game plan was outdated, we had holes in just about every key area, our depth wasn't great and even our stars were playing like they had a heavy load on their shoulders. A lot has been said about how Horse has brought in so many kids but I just love how a) he's been ruthless with selection all year, pretty much dropping anyone if they've put in even 2 shite games in a row, and b) he's somehow gotten the senior boys motivated and playing awesome footy again. They are just playing with rejuvenation. I hate David King but to borrow his quote, our midfield's been more pro-active this year than any I can recall. They're playing with the energy of first-year players, not guys who are burdened by a disappointing GF performance.
