Whilst it is only two wins.. and against some of the lessor competition.. it has to make you wonder what the season could have been if not for having half our list injured for that 6 weeks in the middle!! And to R walls and all those other so called "experts" who can't see the potential in our list.. the big one finger salute to you mate!!

i can't wait for the second half of the season and next year.. I think we have a really good crop of kids that could become anything.

some positives:

• Hille finally becoming THE premier big man of the comp!!
• lloyd getting back to his damaging best
• lucas, fletcher, mcveigh and mcphee all stepping up
• stanton finally getting damaging possession and running it up the middle
• jobe.. a true in and under player.. good vision.. great hands!
• monfries.. putting all the "bits" together
• reimers,myers, longerGUN, houli.. young kids.. mmm exciting
• welsh: i've been a knocker.. but last 3 weeks as a tagger have been fantastic.. may have found his niche.. really looked good.. didn't give judd a chance to scatch his ".."..
• ryder, nash and nlm seem to be settled across half back and be linking up much better with the midfield.
• belief: i'm glad to see our club hasn't "forgotten" how to win.. like some others seem to.. richmond , CARLTON!!

Yeah, agreed.

These last few weeks have really given me hope that we can make a good fist of the rest of the year and start challenging for the top eight next year in the next two years.

A few weeks back it was looking like we were heading to the bottom of the ladder for a long time, but with the young guys playing well and hille and lloyd looking dominant in their positions the future's looking good. Lucas isn't even playing well and davey and gumbleton are still to come back.

Great stuff from the Bombers today!

 

[The Donners]

I was reading a post by a Richmond supporter this morning, asking what their chances were of beating Carlton, Brisbane, Essendon and West Coast. I'll think I'll ask what our chances are of beating Fremantle (Subiaco), Brisbane (Telstra Dome), Richmond, Collingwood, Melbourne, West Coast (Subiaco), Adelaide, Western Bulldogs and St. Kilda. On current form we could win 5 of the remaining 9 games, Brisbane (in Melbourne and possibly no Bradshaw), Melbourne, West Coast, Adelaide and Richmond... chuck in Fremantle and St. Kilda and we could win 7, thus winning 11 games and possibly scraping into the 8! Very unlikely scenario but who knows...

Houli, Hislop, Winderlich and Dempsey to return over the next month! I have made a complete backflip, I want us to win every week, bugger the draft pick, if we're good enough to win we should.

Special mention to Slattery's courage today... I wish him well!

and in response donners.. even before the carlton game i posted a ladder predictor that showed we have a shot at 8th if everything goes our way.. its never to late.

I read that! I had us with 8 wins... I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility to win a couple more than that! 10.5 wins (i.e. Richmond) to 11 wins may nab that 8th spot!

What can I say boys and possibly girls, I've found my feet on BF!

I never thought I was negative by the way... except Lloyd and Stanton. I was wrong with Lloyd and I'm enjoying Stanton's new role, still needs to fix his kicking though!

Monfries, I don't think I've ever been negative, he has the x-factor and could conceivably became an a-grade mid with some bulk. Bold prediction but not all players are guns at 18.
