Waaaah!

Even after all these years of consistently pitiful performances it still stings.

Will we continue to swing the axe? Cosgrove next to go possibly.
I think Evil & Brayshaw need to move aside & what exactly does Tim Nielsen do ? I think his laptop is glued to him.

Andrew Sincock steps down from SACA Board

1 March 2016

Dear SACA Members,

Andrew Sincock last night advised SACA Board Members that he is stepping down from his role as Vice President on the SACA Board, effective immediately.

Andrew was elected to the SACA Board in 2000 and was elected unanimously as Vice President in 2013.

More recently, he has chaired the Adelaide Strikers Committee since 2013 during a successful period in which the team finished top of the table in consecutive seasons and set new attendance records for the BBL.

“I have always said that if you leave somewhere that is in better shape than when you started, you have done your job; I can certainly step down knowing SACA is in better shape.

(1) perhaps we do not understand the difference between finishing top of the table and "winning the whole damn thing"
(2) Is the SACA really in better shape? Financially? We won the T20 comp before it was Big Bash League. I wonder how small the increment to make something better is.

Any else more informed got some thoughts about his reign?

He's an absolute ripper IMO. Knows cricket back to front. I've got my doubts about the genuine cricket nous of others on the board however. I can imagine (personal speculation only) that he would have been frustrated at the goings on at board level/SACA and his lack of control.

I'm not sure whether the Redbacks are in better shape. Certainly some good appointments (Nielsen has international experience as does Siddons and Gillespie). Well credentialed, sought-after administrators/coaches. Starting to see a few more players push on towards Australian honours than previously which again is a positive (but negatively impacts Redbacks performance). Women's cricket going well and Scorpions very good this season.

The last three Shield games have been disappointing however not all doom and gloom. I feel there are better signs this season and we're starting to back in local players a bit more which is crucial.

Light at end of tunnel I think. Hopefully we maintain the faith rather than reacting to the last three games and reverting to our "recruit ageing fringe players from interstate" panic station policy that we've gone with for much of the last 20 years.

Is this Benton's debut? Pretty bloody good first wicket, test player who's averaging 100, for only 28!!

We're doing alright (again), have WA 5/93 just after lunch.
Didn't last long.

We could literally come last again this season.

Tasmania have that pretty much wrapped up.

If they win this week it will come close.
If they get a win this week, would come down to the last game.
Never under estimate the redbacks ability to suck.
As someone who's had the 'pleasure' of following WA pre-Langer as coach, I feel sorry for you lot.

Get these next 2 under 300 and send Weatherald in for a slog. Doesn't seem like he knows any other way.

I think you've won a few shields since we last won it back in 95

I'm not doubting that damn you George and McIntyre (IIRC we won one or two in the late 90's) , but the 5-10 years before JL was coach were pathetic, and given you lot have had about 20 years of that, is astounding. Especially in a 6 team comp.

I wish in one game our tail could wag like our opponents' always seem to
Zampa and Putland did that all too well against WA last year.

If our state has any grit
