Why have a team like DE in the comp when a new team can be established with one of the highest amount of active players in the comp (see the Southern Sharks)?

if u come in the bottomm 3 u are kicked out of that comp

then the 3 new teams replace u in that comp

How do you figure DE dont post wve got a good bunch of active posters now, certainly more than quite a few other clubs who at times cant even get a pitch or side named in time.

If you were going to do the two league thing you'd probably look at doing it this way...

Formula:-

Test Points = x 1.5
ODI Points = x1

Therefore if KCC finishes 1st with 120 points in Tests you multiply it by 1.5.
Add on 16 x 1 for the ODI's and they finish with 196 points. (May have to tinker with the scaling as the less points available in ODIs needs to be weighed with the insignificance of the competition)

Anyway you then work out a Ladder with it all combined.

This should ensure that the top 5 Test teams shouldn't get relegated and the top few ODI teams shouldn't get relegated no matter how bad they do in the other comp.

That probably doesn't make a lot of sense but the basic idea is right. You could even use it to determine Div 1 & Div 2 for next season.

If you're going to do an overall ladder, neither competition can be weighed higher than the other. It's a basic 2 points for every win, 1 point for every tie.

Using that, this is the current 2006 Overall Ladder:

Interestingly enough every team has at least won 10 times this season. If you're going to relegate teams, without two divisions in place, for the sake of weeding out the severe under performers of the league. What's an agreeable percentage of wins that is considered severe underperforming? A third of their games? A quarter? If it's a quarter than only one team is yet to reach that for the season (Darkness Eternal) and they're only 1 point off it. If it's a third of all games for the season then the points required for that is 27 (approximately, rounded up). That being the case then WCW, WIM, GEE, QLD and DET are still yet to reach it for the season but all of those would be expected to reach that by season's end.

So realistically, it doesn't look like any side would fit a criteria of severe underperforming to be relegated for this season.

For Interests sake I've added a line in which if this competition is going to be split into two equal divisions, who'd be up for relegation to Div 2.

What do you think the maximum teams should be? Maybe we could have a division 1 and division 2...?? If you finish top on division 2 you go to division 1 while if you finish bottom in division 1 you go down to 2?

I think it depends on what Eddie thinks he can handle but I definitely think we could fit 2 more sides into the comp & keep it one division.
