I was wondering if Big Ant could give us an insight as to how this is calculated. Heck could we even have the algorithm? I would be very interested.
I had never taken much notice until the last couple of days. I was sitting on a mid 90s rating which, from a brief glance, was the highest in the top 20. I then "forfeited" a match by my 360 crashing when looking at the post-match stats after actually winning a game. My reliability rating dropped to 87. I then had two games where someone quit on my and my rating dropped to 86 and then 85.
Surely this is a bug. Correct me if I'm wrong but all statistics are recorded in games even when someone quits. The only thing that isn't recorded is a win or loss, unless the quit has come in the last quarter. This would explain why I have played almost 200 games but my combined win, loss and forfeit total is much less.
The algorithm for calculating the reliability rating is therefore faulty. It must take into account a ratio of finished games to total games, yet this is affected by other people quitting. Yet another reason why quitters are extremely frustrating
I am assuming that the reliability rating affects how much XP you get, although I haven't kept track. I've always been in the 90+ range as I only have 6 "forfeits" now, and all of those were due to freezes/internet cutouts.
