If you are a fan of a Melbourne club that may sometime in the future be told by the AFL that it was no longer financially viable, which of the following options would you find easier to stomach :
Relocate-Merge-Die?

As a Western Bulldogs fan this is always a possibilty and we have been close to it before. I would despise to see us move or merge and rather play in the VFL or die. I couldnt stomach seeing the Western Kangaroos or the West Sydney Bulldogs, they say the club keeps something of it's identity but they become new clubs

Relocating would be the worst i reckon. I mean sure the club is still alive, but it just wouldn't be the same, and i don't think i could follow the team if they moved to another state.
With a merger, atleast the club would be in Melbourne still, even though its only half your team.

In order of preference.
1. Enter the VFL with full identity intact.
2. Relocate interstate (Tas, West Sydney, Canberra). Fitzroy going to Canberra or Tasmania I could have lived with.
3. Merge with another existing Melbourne club (as long as the identity of the club was evident in the merged club)
4. Die an honorable death (the least preferred. Better something than nothing at all)
