Just curious to get a sample on community opinion. Post if you like but I don't intend this to be a debate thread. More an opinion poll. This is more the Vic perspective but other state posters can vote say if you had to relocate to Vic or your state had same numbers

What are we calling Stage 4?

We're still not really clear what the governments' goal is.

I'd say the current level of restrictions are broadly consistent with "keep things as close to normal as possible without completely overwhelming hospitals." Ideally with more stringent controls to limit spread in aged-care.

In lieu of a national strategy to target elimination, I don't see what stage 4 is trying to achieve.

You would think economically and mentally long term it makes more sense to go elimination
You could then open up everything as normal if you achieved it.

Then you just have to work out how to manage OS travellers
But if that was where you put lots of resources that werent wasted everywhere elese it should be possible too

What is being announced at 1.
Supermarket and medical only things open.
Can't travel more than 5km from home
Only 1 person per house to shop

Thats the social media rumour. Other reporting that public transport will continue to operate.

It's designed to protect essential essential workers. Police, health, fire, gov ect..

They have to travel, they have to shop.

Although transmission in shopping centers, servos and public transport is very very low.
