That's the problem they don't do it while serving customers, they do it while the customer is standing there waiting to be served.

In my experience this doesn't happen often. Their supervisor is ususally within 5 metres of them and they are told off. Where I work and especially at this time of the year it is too busy to talk anyway.

The day customers realise that retail employees are humans and not just slaves put in place to serve their needs will be a great day for all.

Sorry Joel my mistake, I thought they were being paid to serve the customers, silly me.

Don't give me this bull****. Read what I wrote properly!!! What I said is we just aren't SLAVES put in place to serve customers but rather humans their to serve their needs...so please treat us with some respect.

I do give them respect if they deserve it, I always talk to them while they are serving me & thank them when they have given me my change, but I am talking about the bad employees who think they are being paid just to stand there & ignore the customers.

And you know what you do when you see employees not doing their job? You go complain to the manager.
Generally Aussies don't complain about crap service, that's why we have to tolerate so much of it. It is even worse in Britain.

Mostly customers don't complain, they just never come back.. then the manager wonders why they went broke.
