Retired too early

Tim Watson retired too early first time after ‘91 season. Think he was only 30. Wasn’t the same when he came back. Like Jobe striggled after year off

Yep, Tim was 30. He'd had about 15 pre seasons by then, and was mentally done. My sis was at a big game in 92 (I think the second Collingwood game for the year); he was in his role with Channel 7, and she ended up speaking to Tim - he said that he wished he was out there...I think he had started thinking about the possibility about returning.

I thought Lucas could have gone on. Went out the same way Lloyd did, undignified.

Was gonna mention him.
Though his last season was a stinker. I remember watching him at the time thinking “This guy is a liability”
Anyone have any idea what happened? It was like a season long form slump.
Still had some good footy left in him maybe if things turned around.

He had 4 or 5 slumps across his career, always came out of them by moving to chb.

The only thing that comes to mind was his R1 2008 injury vs Norf and that was his good games done.

Think it was his leg which was a shame as no one then impressed me enough to give Lloydy a chopout.
