Looks like hes gonna go to the forward lines, even though hes been more of a defender. I think most of us expected him to add some height into our backline. I thought our forward line was more than efficient. Thoughts?

I always thought of him as a forward who was moved back last season due to some injuries in Essendon's key position stocks. When he played against us, he was hardly threatening as a forward so he'll have to improve by quite a long way to get a permanent spot in our star-studded forward line.

He came to Essendon as a forward and always said he wanted to play forward.
However it is hard to displace Lloyd, Lucas and Hird.
He did play forward a few times when Lloyd was out and played well.

He does work hard, so you might find him leading from CHF up around the wings as a marking target from defence.

will be another good player to add to our forward line, where would he get played though, With the forward line we have he will have to do alot of work to get a spot on the team, Im hoping we will use vogels alot more next year, i reckon he could be the next barry hall.

Doubt it. After all we already have a very good guy doing that in Barry Hall.

There are times, however, when that becomes a problem because he gets sucked away from goal.

I think the role described is more that which O'Keefe currently plays. So if Richards has the same level of areobic capacity as O'Keefe and is prepared to work as hard, at worst he provides another option in that department. That either provides injury cover for O'Keefe, if needed, or provides flexibility to the forward set-up in that O'Keefe can be used more as a stay-at-home forward (eg if O'Loughlin is injured) without removing the very important link role that O'Keefe currently provides.
