So the trade period has concluded, with the Tigers accomplishing what they set out to do.
The next major event effecting the club is the 2016 fixture.
The AFL will be releasing the draw on Thursday 29th of October, so since their isn't a thread, I thought I would start one.
Once again the AFL have indicated that they will continue with the three groups of six.
The three groups consist of the top six, middle six and the bottom six. From these groups the AFL will work out who plays each other twice. All teams play each other once, then will play another five teams again.
Below, are the three groups, with ladder position after finals and the last time Richmond played them twice in one year.

The next step is to work out which teams and how many teams Richmond will play from each group.
So looking at the above information, I believe that Richmond will play 2 teams from the top six, two from the middle six and one from the bottom six. So which teams from each group?
From the top six, Hawthorn and West Coast seem the most likely teams Richmond will play twice. Both are big teams that will produce large crowds that the AFL love. More cash in the coffers is a good thing. It is also Richmond's turn to travel to Perth to play the Eagles. Adelaide is also an option, that would tick all the above criteria.
The middle group is an interesting one. On the surface, Geelong and Collingwood are the best options. Big Victorian teams that will be contesting for a spot in the eight along with Richmond. The AFL could choose the Power and Bulldogs, two teams that are expected to do well next year that would create a buzz.
Carlton seem to be the team that Richmond will play twice from the bottom group. First game of the year, draws a big crowd. Since, Carlton are in such debt and will not play many Friday night games, the AFL will help out with their draw, scheduling them to play the big four twice. The only thing that may change it is Essendon. Not since 2010, have Richmond and Essendon only played each other once in a year.
Of late, Dreamtime at the G has become a brilliant event, that the whole AFL community enjoys, yet the last meeting for these two teams each year haven't been the best. So will the AFL factor that in?
Richmond have never played Gold Coast twice in one year, that is also an option.
Another aspect that needs to be factored in is interstate travel. Each year, Richmond travels at least four times and visit each state. Richmond usually swaps between years who they play. So in 2016, Richmond are due to play West Coast, GWS and Gold Coast at their home grounds. Last time Richmond played Fremantle it was at the MCG. So will Richmond travel to Perth twice in one year? When Richmond played North in Hobart it was a great success, the AFL may schedule that game again as its Norths turn for a home game.
So what do all of you think and know about Richmonds 2016 Fixture.
Lets the discussion begin and we all will find out on Thursday.
