With Richo out for 8-12 Weeks with a hamstring tear. It leaves a big gap in the Tigers Fowardline. We allready know that Hughes cant even break into the VFL Seniors. And Schulz can't string 3-4 Solid performances together in the VFL Seniors. So who are the tigers going to choose for the Key Foward role?. Some say Simmonds, Personally i think he isnt the right person for the job. He drops too many sitters and can't kick straight half the time?

Who will be the Tigers KPF for the next 10+ Weeks?

This bloke.

ye what the hell is going on with Hughes!
why was he talked up so much? he can't even get a game and how long has he been on the list for? 3-4 years?
we need another KP forward wheather its in the draft or trade period.

we might need to play like geelong's forwards. in saying this: they usually kick to Stevie J or Mooney/stokes and chappy + midfielders.
they should be - Deledio, Morton, Riewoldt, Nahas to crumb, Brown

i just cant see Shultz being a permanent forward.

Word is that Hughes is suffering from stress fractures in his foot, whether this is true or not I don't know - but I have heard it from multiple sources.

^^
I think the Tigers should give Big Graham a go at 1-1 in the Goal square.
With Graham in the foward line the tigers will have a big player in there that they can bomb the ball in and have Nahas and Morton crumbing the ball when it hits the ground. We have all seen how fast Nahas is when the ball hits the ground.

At 200cms and 96 Kgs he would be the perfect man to throw in at FF Have Riewoldt at CHF And Nahas and Morton in the foward pockets.

What do you guys reckon?

Why has Collins only just got a game in his 3rd year? Why has Polo only now started to get a consistent game? Doesn't mean Cleve isn't up to it.

This next 10 weeks will tell us a lot more about Schulz and Hughes.
They are now in direct competition for that FF spot.

Whoever comes in, I hope they are given the full 10 games to establish themselves in that position. Neither of them have been allowed to play number 1 forward role for any length of time. It's hard when they are given a couple of weeks then dropped. It's also hard when Richo plays there for any other big forward to dominate as he's a ball magnet.

Schulz plays better when Richo isn't there.

It's a big oppurtunity, I'd pick Schulz over Hughes because to me he has a better contested grab and attacks the contest harder.

Either way, the decision has to be made to play one of them and I hope they are given the full 10 weeks to have a crack at it.

give schulz 3 weeks, he must show something in one of those 3 to keep his spot for another week. and i like the idea of gus going forward more often.

Collins and Polo aren't the same. they were not talked up as much as Hughes.. and yeah collins has started to get games but you would have thought he'd play much earlier..

Hughes needs to actually do something. a man of his size should be a valuable asset to the club.

Ahh, the Tambling argument...because some people hyped him up, if he's not the best from day 1 ( and every day thereafter ), he must be a dud.

Hughes is close to being ready from what I gather - just my opinion. We seem to be doing OK of late with late bloomers - allowing guys to earn their spots like Polo, Moore, Graham, Collins, Rance etc. It will work for Hughes too.

I propose we play this forward line and direct our midfielders to grubber kick the ball into our forward 50.

FP: King FF : Morton FP: Nahas
FF: Brown CHF : Foley FF : Edwards

^^ Tambling isn't a Dud. He is put down alot because he was selected for Buddy. Give Tambling some time he is starting to come good. Give him 1-2 More years then judge him on the player he is. Tambling isn't the best player but hes not A Dud.
