Matthew Richardson has been left out of the Richmond side to play Fremantle at the MCG on Sunday.

The Tiger full-forward this week underwent surgery to repair a hairline fracture of his cheekbone following a clash with Scott West of the Western Bulldogs and was originally ruled out for one match by the club medical staff.

However, he recovered well enough from the surgery to offer a hope of selection against the Dockers, however the club decided late on Saturday to leave him out.

“If we had an extra day, he probably would have played,” a club spokesman said.

The decision to leave Richardson out clears the way for former Carlton reserves player Tim Fleming to make his debut for the club.

Well I hope it doesn't distract the boys too much.

Ah, good news. If he played, I had a feeling he would carved us up like he usually does.

Should be a close game and hopefully the boys will get up.

NO doubt ROBBIE Haddrill wouldve caved his head in if he played , this is the New Freo Dockers ... the days of Richo being played into form are finished... As I said If he played Richo wouldve gone for a clear cut ,mark ... Haddrill would spoil ( & collect his skull )... And Woods wouldve picked up the crumbs before they hit the ground

Dennis Commetti this mornig on 6PR ( I must sound like a 6PR Junkie ) said the Dockers were looking very sharp on the MCG training session this morning aswell as looking very smart in the purple trianing unifrom , and he went as far to say it should be our away strip !!!

We really have to win tomorrow for our own sanity. And we really need a big game from some of our A list players. A blinder from anyone of Headland, Farmer or Croad would go a long way towards putting my mind at ease (and can you imagine if they all fired). We look damn good on paper we need to tranfer that to the field when we away.
