Hi Guys,

I went to the Freo V Richomd game last Sunday and still can't believe the game Richo played. You can't imagine from the TV coverage how much work he actually produced. He presented for mutiple leads all day, ran on after delivering the ball (which he did very effectively) chased, tackled and covered more ground than Burke & Wills. And it was a bloody warm arvo to boot.

How does a 104kg, 33 year old manage to play like that? I used to think that he was a lazy ego-maniac but some time over the last 3 or 4 years ago he developed a work ethic the like of which I've never seen before. Any ideas why this change came about?

You were wrong.

He's always been one of the best athletes in the comp.

And what you thought was ego was 'just' passion for the club...He's a crazed fan who plays.

Maybe the difference for me is in being at the game for the first time in a few years but he looks impossible to match up on when he's playing the type of role he had last Sunday. If they put a tall on him, he'll run them ragged and he'd just monster the average go-with runner. What odds on back to back B&F's?

he's been called many things in the past some warranted some not, but lazy, have never heard that one before...I take it this was the first time you've seen him play, a 6"5 fella that covers 15-20k a game is anything but lazy:eek:

I met a bloke used to be 3rd ruckman for Sydney about 4-5 years ago at a mates bbq. He said that Richo was definitely recoginised as the toughest guys to play on in the league. One of the strongest players in the league so only a few guys can match one to one, and can run all day so most talls can't go with him. He said he played a half on him once and worst day of his AFL career!

Love the big fella, hope we get him to a few more final before he hangs up the boots.

watching him on tv as with other players with his work rate like reiwoldt does not do these players justice they work so hard off the ball makeing 2 3 and 4 leads at a ball running far up the field on tv you just dont get to see it. Its also like the cats last year it is impossible to geta handle on how hard the whole team works off the ball on tv but when you see them live you can appreciate why they are currently unstoppable.

I go to all local tiges games and it still amazes me how hard he works, when i speak to opposition fans who criticise him i know they have just never been to a game to watch him play.
