Saints and AFL ledgend Darrel Baldock passed away aged 72 from a stroke. He was a great player to watch, hard as nails RIP Doc.

Will no doubt be a sad piece of news for all Saints fans, and football fans of the era.

Did anyone see Danny Frawley's quote in the paper? "He put himself before the club many times..."

Makes it even sadder that the Saints failed to claim the premership last year. Sometimes life just isn't fair.

RIP Doc.

just my opinion but hes easily the best footballer tasmania has produced.
to me hes very underrated by those on the mainland of australia. probably in the top 10 20 players ever to play the game. though theres a few just like him who have never recieved the accolades they deserve.
rip daryl.you are a true great of the game. you played such a big role in making it what it is.

Royce hart is also from Tasmania and was a better footballer than Baldock, however Darrel Baldock was a superb player who took no prisoners on the field, never took a backward step and lived for his club.

RIP Doc.
