I hired a few DVD from the vid shop and attempted to rip them using DVD shrink, then using nero to burn to blank dvd, but dvd shrink would not rip the dvd, yet when i tried one of my own dvd it worked fine. is there some sort of protection on rental dvd's now (have been able to do it in the past) that does not allow you to copy discs??

yeah there got updated inscription..sony discs have blocks and some of the new ones coming out are more sofisticated..batman and others...try to download a few programs to use..anydvd..and clonedvd, use those two together.... also try ripitforme...fabdvd...i think there only 21 day trials..but seem to work for me so far:)
