Rivalry

I suppose in a way this is a continuation of the rivalry thread, so it might be merged at some point.

I really just wanted somewhere to reiterate my hatred for Port Adelaide. I'm still stinging from Round 1 and some of the arrogance from Port supporters, particularly the comments about us having a bottom 8 or bottom 4 side and Port being a definite top 4 side.

If we make the finals I'm going straight to the Port board to say 'take that motherf***ers!'

Better, I'd love Port to make the finals so we can meet them and smack the s*** out of them.

That's all.

Does anyone else feel my hate?

At the start of the season so many of you showed us your arrogance. Top 4 and top 8 you said. Essendon were no better than bottom 4 or bottom 8. Look at you now.

Can't say I really feel anything towards Port one way or another. Then again I use the term "rivals" far more narrowly than most on BF do.

Only rivals from my perspective are Carlton, Collingwood & Richmond.

We seem to reserve some of our worst performances for Port and at the same time they seem to turn it on against us. Watching their game v the Pups a few weeks ago I was absolutely astounded as to how completely incompetent they looked. That game and their performance would not have looked out of place with a Benny Hill soundtrack backing it up. Absolutely atrocious. We never seem to get them on a "bad day" if you get my drift.
I look forward to playing them again particularly after old cindy brady lisp himself chad cornes, came out with his comments regarding Andy Lovett and Essendon, surely it`s our time to pay port a few favours back when we next meet. Look forward to it Cindy.

Most of my friends are Carlton supporters and my Father inlaw, so I have over the last few years grown a real hatred to Carlton. In the last few years it has only gotten worse. As they all were saying "we are going to win a flag before the EFC gets into finals". And "we have Judd Murphy Gibbs Kruzer and Fev man carlton are going to kill you guys". Shit like that. So it has been a great year for me putting them back in there places. All we need to do is last longer in the Finals then Carlton and I will be happy.

I haven't beeen able to stand that lot of thugs since the 2 semi final losses in concecutive years in the early 2000's

In saying that carlton is the biggest pet hate for me closely followed by Brisbane (living here helps that one! LOL)

Plus that whole "if it bleeds" thing really got under my skin!!!!!

I don't think we can call Port rivals, that has to be reserved for collingwood and carlton. That said however for me personally living in Adelaide I f*****g hate Port and even more so since round 1. B(r)ogan's bump on Lovett after quarter time, pettigrew (I'm fairly sure it was him) clotheslining Lovett and then trying to get in his face about it afterwards and then Chad whinging when Brogan got suspended - I wish we were playing Port again this year as well the final score would be alot different.

Anyway that's my little rant - I feel alot better now
