Robbo?

He's out of contract, they just need a spot on there senior list so they can use a pick in the PSD if they want him.

Dean Bailey also said at the announcement that they'd be willing to help Robbo get to whatever club he wants, so a Steven King type trade is definitely an option

Considering we're in a premiership window, I'd give it a go. He won't cost much either draft wise or contract wise and next year we'll have cap room anyway.

loved Robbo as a player but if he was to come in and get into the 22 next season, i think he would take Gamble's spot which would not be a good thing.

while we are on top we should be looking to bring in younger blokes and get them up to scratch rather than topping up with older players

Form of him or the team. Id say the last thing you want in your team this year is a player in form.

For those who say to get him , just who are we going to delist to get him? WE have to find 5 spots already if we take Mumford and Laidler

I don't think this is so much of a problem.

Firstly the change to the draft rules as of yesterday means that upgrading rookies would count for us in the compulsory list changes.

Secondly take into account Egan will definitely retire, Harley likely also, possibly Milburn, and normal list changes (i.e. delistings and trades) and we'll have enough spots.

The issue is whether we want to use a pick on a kid or Robbo. Normally I'd say a kid, but we have some excellent long term prospects (Simpson, Brown) which means short term cover may matter more. Also thanks to GWS AND GC17 the drafts will be quite shallow so trying to find a good KPP will be hard. That makes Robbo not as crazy an idea as he sounds.

After reading all the comments within this particular thread, all I can say is Good Luck. Whether you decide to have a look or whether you decide to look the other way, either way good luck with it all.

Some of you guys want him, some of you don't. All I can say is, if you pick him up, I hope you win a grand final. Like Dez! said earlier in the thread, it's the one thing Robbo doesn't have and truely does deserve. Not only that but, I'm sure his passion up forward would pump up the cheersqaud behind the sticks ;)

Anyway, like I said.
Ether way it goes,
Good Luck.

People forget. Hawthorn got Stuart Dew and he won them a premiership - Half of the St kida team are from other clubs - Robbo is not a bad option - Go in with an open mind - In the draft if Robbo is a better player than what is available in our final pick you would draft him.

Geelong would have to seriously look at Robbo - beyond Steve Johnson you don't have much goal kicking power in your forward line, and your premiership window is slowly but surely closing. I guess it's a choice of whether you should try and maximise your chances for another flag now or prepare for the future (by getting games into Gamble, etc.), similar to the Lions during their threepeat, where they pushed for the last few GFs and in doing so put themselves down the bottom for an extended period of time in the years after.

A big whoopty-do
Still don't want him.If he's so good why is your crap club giving him the arse ?

Because they're tanking :D

Seriously age is no issue....Steven King's age never gets talked about because he's playing well at present.

As the previous poster said, come draft time it's a matter of what the alternative is with our last pick and whether that's better than Robbo or not.

He was pretty good yesterday.
