If you were making a list of unsung players at Collingwood surely Robbie Dean has to be right up near the top.
He was a magnificent overhead mark, could run all day and had enormous physical courage.
He made up for his lack of foot speed with his sure ball handling and ability to read the play.
When we traded him to South I think he kicked 8 goals in his first game for them playing centre half forward after playing on the wing for years with us. He kicked 6 against us the following week. 14 goals in two games for his new club!
