Of the fifteen players listed above, 6 were traded for :
Fraser Gehrig, Luke Penny, Aaron Fiora, Jason Gram, Barry Brooks, Nick Dal Santo.
That leaves 9 players from the first round that we obtained through the draft process. If you have a look at the other teams, this is actually below par for the league.
We have cleverly retained our high draft picks for player recruitment, and have traded to obtain other players who were first round draft picks.
I didn't like his implication here "Increasingly, it appears as if Thomas is a one-man show at Moorabbin. For his and his team's sake, it had better work." - it is just giving trolls amunition.
In fact the whole paragraph (which he writes in past tense as if to say it's a foregone conclusion that what he hopes will happen will come to pass).
"This was to be St Kilda's best opportunity to be a force in football. Of concern is that this management team has split. Waldron now works for the Melbourne Storm and Butterss and Thomas, once great buddies, have had a cooling off in their relationship.
Both say it won't affect the club. Take it from me it will. Chairman and coaches who don't trust, respect and co-operate together will let their club down."
Gee I hate bad press even when we deserve it, but this is just disgusting journalism - pre-empting problems and stating opinions as if they are facts.
