I reckon we will have a crack at Warnock. Lyon knows the value of ruckmen & personally I think Warnock will be an absolute star. McEvoy/ Warnock would be a very useful combo in 2 years time, McEvoy running forward & Warnock being the new age ruck/midfielder like Cox is.

I like Mundy too but I'd imagine Warnock would be priority #1 unless Kerr is really on the table (I think he'll re-sign).

I would take our 2nd rounder & Clint Jones in a nano second but that won't get the job done & I reckon 99% of Freo supporters would string you up for suggesting that.

More realistic is our 2nd rounder and Jarryd Allen (tall developing forward) or just our first rounder (which will be 13-16- hopefully #16!).

Jones isnt getting any younger and was a suprise package... didnt cost us a cent... wouldnt mind including him but he is getting better by the day so really dont know... i think we should keep our first rounder no matter what as it wouldnt hurt to get a repacement in for maxxy or a indiginus midfielder to tell the truth we dont have many of em... looking back which i know isnt fair i would have rather liked them to pick rioli over mcevoy and then pick a ruckmen this year but we dont know whats going to be there in this draft...P.S. i dont count x man as he doesnt play that much...

Hopefully Chris Yarran will still be available at our pick. He has that big of magic about him that we lack.

If we can put our 2nd rounder together with someone like Allen then I'd be wrapped to get Warnock.

I'd love to keep hold of the 1st rnd pick but put it this way, the Pies traded pick 14 to Bris for Cam Wood last year & Warnock will be three times the player Wood will be.

Realistic value of Warnock is a late first rounder. Lyon has already said that we will pick up another young ruckman. The question therefore is whether Warnock is better than what is available in the draft this year. I'd say he is better than ANY pure ruckman available (including Natanui).

Re: Warnock, Carlton need a ruckman more than the Saints. They would most likely bid more aggressively than us. If they could find a key defender and get a decent ruckman (I'm not that sure on Warnock) they will challenge next year. I think they are desparate to get back in the mix whilst they have Judd, Stevens and Fevola all firing (may not be as concerned about the U/18s this year).
