You would have to be rapt in this bloke wouldn`t you ? I love his never say die attitude,he has jumped ahead of krakouer at the moment (i don`t think he is ready)
He is going to be something special.
i agree WH.while the spotlight has been on judd and hodge etc.rodan has come along nicely.his never say attitude is really showing out at the moment its just a pity some of his teamates dont follow suit.
as far as krakour goes like danny said last year andy is a few years away from being at his best body wise.he has the skills we just have to be patient.
cheers!

For a team that lacks many of the attributes that this little pocket dynamo does, Rodan stands out as a very hot prospect for the Tigers. What he lacks in height he at this stage makes up in hardness, good evasive skills and an ability to find the ball and use it.
To see him come on so quickly is an exciting prospect, but with the weight of expectation from tiger fans i hope it dos'nt put to much pressure on him.

As for krakouer, another good pickup, showed some glimpses of the player he will in the long run become, but at this stage needs more time .

As for Rodan i'm rapt

Amazing how an 18 year old is showing the rest of the team the way at the moment. Great pickup and its interesting how you sense the expectation from the crowd whenever Rodan gets the ball near the goals.

Aww geez I love Rodan. He is such a shining light at the moment and he is just what we want. Coughlan is making me happy too but he needs more game time.

Gotta love the way he evaded the two Hawthorn pursuers last Saturday. Hemmed in on the boundary line, 2 Hawks inside him he shaped as if to handball to the bloke in the 3rd row then waltzed straight through them as if they weren't there and then followed up with a lace out pass right in front of Bowden, 10 metres out from goal.

He will end up being a differnet player to Krakouer as Rodan will spend most of his time in the midfield. Krakouer will be used as a permanent small forward most of the time.

Krakouer is an opportunist, and will only get a few touches a game but by word they will be effective!

To compare the two is unfair, Rodan has a better body type and has come through a very good footballing system!

As for Rodan, by word im happy, hes a super kid!

It has been a big five weeks for the youngster and hopefully he can keep playing consistently good footy. One of our teams young up-and-comers and slowly starting to steal the limelight.

A couple of games doesn't make a career, and AFL footy is not quiet that easy, is it ? But good luck to him, he has done well and has got a bit of the ball.

He has only been at the club a short time, and has come from being a young 17 year old who has just stepped out of the under 18's, to being one of our more consistently good players, so that transition has been fantastic.:)

The beautiful thing about Rodan is that he really hurts the opposition when he gets the ball...goals he kicks himself and those that he gives to a player in the right spot. A tagger like Peverill might keep 'Rodes' to 6 balls...but they will have an impact.

The direction of recruiting sine Spud's arrival has been very positive toward guys with skills. Poyas, Zantuck, Fiora, Coughlan, Pettifer, Krakeour and Rodan all hit their targets.
And apparently Ednie and McGrath are the goods. My only criticism is that we haven't picked up 3 more talls.

....and a team with 22 players that hits targets are a lot harder to beat than players who 'create' turnovers. We have a few of those too....

Reminds me of Allen Jeans remark : 'footy is simple...we've got it or they got it'.

The thing about Rodan is he can play the game. NOW. What I mean is he doesn't have to be put under cotton wool like any other player of his age. He has the ability, strength and endurance to play high class football right NOW.
He does not need to be played off the bench(why they do beats me)He does not need to play little bursts in the centre(most of the Time he is in there the game is over). He is ready, just like Bartels at geelong is ready.
He is a defensive midfeilder that can hurt you when he gets the ball. His opponet is unlikley to get a way from him due to his tagging abilities and this is why it's not a gamble to play him there, unlike alot of our players he is accountable. He is just what we need. Like Peverill at Essendon. He will split packs and off load the handballs to Tivendale,bowden,campbell,Knights,Houlihan....etc.. and will be the start off many forward thrust.
Out of the last two losses a positive would have been to build Rodans endurance level up so by now he would almost be able to run a match out.
