Excellent stuff. :thumbsu:

Rucci should be made to do an apprenticeship with Connolly to see how a professional journalist operates.

A 15 year apprenticeship with Connolly should help the poor lost soul from the dark side at least a little bit. :)

Good article!

Like a seasoned heavyweight boxer, the Crows know how to roll with the punches, when to counter-attack, when to speed things up, and when to slow them down. You can call it tempo football. But it's every bit as much about composure.
I found this bit interesting and it got me thinking how important that is in any team. For a basketball fan, I am aware how important it is for a team to have a good point guard who knows how to run the team. When to slow the play down, when to push the tempo, when to execute a certain plan. Its worth its weight in gold and Craig, over the years, has managed to teach his players something that is not easy to teach. To know when to do what in the pressure cooker that is a game of AFL football, is a weapon that is VERY under-rated in today's day and age.

I have often wondered how much we should be thanking Wallace for the game last year, as I think Craig let it flow and was waiting for the players to make the decision to change their style, but they didn't. Eventually he did make the change and oh for a couple of minutes longer and we would have won. But overall was it one of his 'learning' experinces?
