ROK *is* a gun, and people who know footy wherever they are can see this.

I've been involved in discussion on this board before where I think some Sydney folks OVERrate him, and I stand by that. But I think he is a very very very good player. I think he is a second-tier star in the AFL, and second only to the very cream of the crop, the superstars of the comp.

His consistency, fitness and work-rate are what lift him above other equally as talented players. And everyone admires that.

He fricken DOMINATED against my Blues last week. Best game he's played in a long time.

Yep, and as well as I think a lot of our players played last week, particularly in the second half, had RyanO gone off with his injury and not returned, the result would have been very different.

It was ROK we couldn't stop. I know McVeigh had his goals and the ruck was a walkover, but ROK was the matchwinner, for sure.

PS - how good is Gibbs? Stitched a fricken superstar in Goodesy, even if he was less than 100%.

On the "Fev for ROK" concept... isn't that just the ultimate in "reliability vs upside"? :o

ROK is good-to-very good every week. He's impossible to shut out of the game, because if he's being beaten as a forward he plays as a middy, and vice-versa. He doesn't win many games though. But he contributes to just about every game. He's an awesome club man because you know he'll be there working hard every time.

Fev ranges from the worst player in the comp to very close to the best. When he's on, he is unstoppable. He can pile up goals in a quarter, half or game at an astonishing rate. He can make any defender look stupid, and kick goals from pretty much the entire forward half of the ground. But his worst is awful. He is undisciplined, lazy and a non-factor. Worse than that, he's a distraction.

What do you go for? There's pros and cons of both. I don't think anyone can say Fev is not more valuable *at his best* than ROK is. But can you put up with his worst efforts to get his best? Or is a more predictable, if less spectacular, output better? It's a good debate topic.

Get his contract finalised, give him what he wants and base the team around this out and out champion!
