Rookies

hey guys just wondering how the rookies are going, especially Shields and Hill because i haven't heard much about them. Obviously Jamo is progressing very well, and Ellard showed some positive signs during the WCE game. Have also heard that Joseph is holding his own in the Ants, whilst Sammy Jacobs had a reasonable game on the weekend.

This year being Sam Jacobs 2nd on rookie list, do we have to put him on the main list at seasons end or can he somehow continue as a rookie.

I'd be surprised if we let him slip, ruckmen his size are hard to come by & seems to be improving a fair bit.

Yes we do TG. Has to be elevated, or he's delisted. I almost believe it will come down to a "contest" between he and Ackland. On current form, i'd elevate Jacobs and delist Ackland.

Lachie Hill is still learning the ropes at VFL, but he does have some promise. Does run and carry pretty well, but we already have the Andrew Walker, Shaun Grigg type pretty well covered.

If young enough, couldn't he be delisted and then picked up again in the rookie draft and held on the rookie list for another 2 years?

Possibly but if we rate him by seasons end we wouldn't take that chance of another club grabbing him.

Ellard is the next BIG thing (although he himself is rather small)
