Is there any way of being able to get a 5th rookie next year or are the club looking at it? I know it costs around $40 000 to have a extra one but i think its well worth the investment.
What are your opinions on this?

Not sure, I was under the impression that as of 2010 all clubs will be allowed to have 7 or 8 rookies as part of the "compensation" for the Gold Coast draft concessions. But I guess that won't come in until the Gold Coast club does.
I don't see why the AFL would make any allowances before then.

The AFL should pay for every team's rookies, or at least the teams who can't afford a full rookie roster, given they have screwed up so many teams chances of rebuilding via the actual draft for the next few years, and effectively condemned melbourne and the kangaroos to relocation/non-existance.

Richmond ARE getting 2 extra Rookies next year. The asked for donations at the best and fairest dinner.

www.yellowandblack.com.au has raised $2000 so far, with quite a bit more being donated at the B&F dinner. There's still more steady donations coming in, so call Richmond and ask how you can help. :)

That is fantastic news Danog :thumbsu:
I remember soemone else mentioned it and i think it's a good idea to promote one player each year from Coburg onto the rookie list if its warranted. The second one might be a player we have currently but we will re-draft them.
6 rookies next year :D

I prefer the Rookie Draft more than the National one. Was reading on another forum before about how crap the 2002 National Draft has been. The 2002 Rookie draft has done better - Carrazzo, Jamar, Thornton, Lynch, Boyd, Bock, Sandilands, Rutten and Mattner to name a few.
