I know Roo's suffering from a mystery complaint, but I've been a bit disappointed with his Captaincy so far this year (apart from the Carlton game). Compared to Primus he hasn't showed the way. However, it was good to hear he got the boys geed up when Matty Robran went down on Saturday night. Maybe when his health picks up we'll see some more leadership qualities emerge.

On the other hand, Simon Goodwin has been a pleasant surprise. He's beaten the Curse of the Gold Jacket (oops, maybe I shouldn't speak too soon). During the week he poopoohed Cornsey's idea of getting a psychologist to speak to the boys about goal kicking, and came out with two fantastic goals against Freo. He's been up amongst the top players each week, and is doing a fair bit of radio work along the way. A good sign for the future.

I think his health problems have definitely hindered him Crow54. If he was playing more in the midfield I'm sure he'd be inspiring the boys with his bullocking work, tireless running and in and under footy. Playing up forward Roo just hasn't been able to do the leadership things he would liked (bar the Carlton game) but I think he's really trying and hopefully soon he'll be back in the centre showing the way.

I was watching Richmond v Roos a couple weeks ago and within 30 seconds of the first bounce I was thanking christ almighty that Roo was our captain and not Matthew Richardson. I have never seen roo look at the umpire before the ball as Richo did and if I was a Richmond player that day I would have lost all confidence in my captain before the first goal was scored.

Roo is as tough as they get and I'm sure he's going through a lot just to get on the feild. I rate Roo as highly as Paul Kelly as a leader and have no doubt that the players have total respect for his efforts whether he gets 10 touches or 30.

Agree Spogs, Roo is made to be a leader, his ferocious, couragous, and classy.

His health problem is stuffin him round at the moment.

He showed his class against carlton, he showed the way, one of the greatest examples of captaincy...ever!
