just announced, investigation finds roos has no case to answer

wonder if he might now think of civil action against andy pandy for defamation
because no matter how you cut it up, what demetriou did by insisting roos was charged under a rule that refers to match-fixing is defamtory
roos has made some mention, i think, about damage to his reputation
that is almost grounds for demation, far as i know

The publicity is a shock. We usually get anything ranging from none to little.

here's my latest theory: roos is furious with the AFL and the man at the top, this is the latest in what he could well perceive as if not a personal vendetta, then possibly a square-up for being made to look a goose in 2005
roos has hinted very strongly this week that this has been a slur on his reputation as both a coach and a person
today he admitted his father had been very upset hearing the news all week, and the linking of the case against roos to the cahrge of match-fixing
roos is saying tonight: what else can happen to the swans? what else is next?
he plans to talk to club officials to see if they are similarly concerned
here's my theory: is roos sufficiently discouraged and distressed, personally - AND MORE IMPORTANTLY - from the club's perspective, to look to hasten his retirement from football, and from the swans job????
this is merely thinking out loud, really, but is it possible he now sees it as better for the club if he removes himself and reduces the likelihood of any further clashes with demetriou/AFL over rules, etc, that may jeopardise the club's on-field fortunes????

Thick skin, has Roos. Demetriou has never liked him, really, exemplified by the fact that he took himself off the jury. A few personality clashes haven't discouraged him from doing what he has wanted to in the past, highly unlikely it will now.

I hope instead that he uses this episode as part of an us against them mentality that could inspire the team to play above their capabilities.

Of course Roos will ultimately receive an apology when the AFL conducts an investigation into Demetrious conduct

Like that would happen

the difference now is that roos has requested a meeting with swans officials to discuss this incident and how it fits in to a bigger picture of, shall we say, persecution

It won't make too much difference, i think. The board thinks incredibly highly of Roos, and unless he insists he wants to step down, no such decision will be taken by the board.

Persecution is an interesting word.

I might play devils advocate for a second and turn back the clock

No discussion about the incident occurs and then in a weeks time one of these witnesses goes to the media and accusses the AFL of not taking his word seriously and that therefor the AFL has turned a blind eye to possible improper behaviour which casts a bigger slur over the competition and the AFL than what was actually cast over Roos.

Oh bugger this devils advocate stuff, lets just hang that bas..rd demetriou instead

Lets win that damn premiership cup again and stick it up them

It is now time for our great chairman Richard Colless to do something about anderson and his boss.
Colless has been a magnificent leader and only comments when we are under threat.
Now is the time Richard to stick it up these two @@@@@ somebody must do something to stop this threat against our club.
hopefully like 2005 we will stick it up the AFL and win the flag

Ode to Andy.

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry merry king of the bush is he,
Laugh Kookaburra laugh,
Kookaburra, gay your life must be.

More painful if we use the cup rather than a flag and might I suggest, it would also be easier to clean

We'll pinch the vast array of Carlton's wooden spoons & their NAB trophy and stick that up. Premiership cup & flag are too precious.

Point taken but I somehow feel that the cup would be more symbolic and most importantly, hurt more.

What ever the choice it would have to be heavily coated in hot chilli paste
