Crows rookie listed player Rory Laird has been playing high level footy in the SANFL and will get upgraded this year. I was wondering where people would think he may of gone in the draft this year. He better than a lot of the young defenders who people rate in this draft.

A little known player who only appeared late on the scene last year and just scraped into his draft year by 2 days IIRC. However according to those who watch both Brad Crouch and he out at West Adelaide, his form has been close to or equal to that of Crouch's, who was the popular choice for the 2nd mini draft pick last year.

Considering his extremely good form in the SANFL and the fact he was so close to being a part of the current draft crop, its fair to question where he might fit, especially when you compare it to the form of the likes of Kennedy, Toumpas, Mayes etc in the same competition.

Thats kind of what I am asking. He wasnt drafted last year but got a gig on the rookie list. Since then he has shown very good form and will be added to main list this year. On the form he has shown this year I was wondering where he would fit in this years talent. I personally think he would be close to top ten.
Obviously bugger all know anything about him or how he has been going. Im pretty happy he has kicked on. Another top talent on our list.

I suggest that if he is good as reported - he will be offered a spot an another club's primary list - Adelaide will have to match the offer.

Essendon has one or two players ( rookies ) who may be in the same boat.
