ive heard all about the sacred heart draftees (elliott, kenny, harris, and the rest of the school) but has anyone heard of an adelaide boy named tom chapman. i have played against and with this kid who just plays amatauer league footy but has been receiving letters from glenelg, westies, sturt and norwood to train for them. as he is only 17 he still eligible next year but has anyone else seen him play or watch him progress????

yeah i played footy with tom and he is quite a hidden talent. not sure about his commitment if he doesnt go to a good league and try out. mite get fouind out at a good level. watch for jed wilson who is making a comeback for the bays. he was in the state u/18 last year but missed final selection. if he was to play for the bays the next coupla years could be interesting....nick played well

he is about mid 180's cm and plays as a rebounding half back or onballer. pretty vercitile. needs to put on some weight as he is only about 75kg but a year in the gym will help him. u heard of him?

yes. has been approached by some afl clubs and they told him he needs to smarten up his act and get some league games for glenelg under his belt before considering to nominate for the draft

Derick Clark that young Peel Thunder kid could be a superstar for the future even though his teem sucks.

My understanding is that he is one-sided, lacks pace and has no ticker. Would be an ideal player for the Widgiemooltha U12's

Not sure where this comment is coming from?
This kid can play and has all the credentials to be picked up and will be. Touched up Neaves on the weekend by stopping him to nothing and kicking a lazy 3 goals whilst on the ball and has what clubs are looking for at 193, 85kg, uses both sides of the body and does a beep of plus 15.
Couple of clubs looked at picking him late last year as a potential high one this year and my contacts tell me one close to your heart I believe went very close.

It came from this comment

Matt Spangher (Eastern Ranges) GUN!

Beau Dowler is possibly a gun. Marc Murphy could be a gun. Deludio was a gun at TAC level.

Sorry but having seen MS play 8-10 times since the start of 2004 he has done little to suggest he is a GUN. MS is a half decent young footballer who may get drafted because of his height and aerobic capacity but at this stage he is a long way from those I mentioned above.

I didn't see the game against Calder but when a team wins by 10+ goals alot of players can look better than they are. I will let you know how MS goes against some decent opposition this week at Morwell.

Perhaps I might be forced to edit this post like I have been shamed into doing previously this week on another matter.

Fair enough - I took the comment as you thought he was no good.
Having said that I wouldn't suggest Neaves is no opposition as I reckon he can play. Along with Panozza, Spangher did his best work early when the heat was on. They played him the backline in the second half or else he would have been best on. This kid improves with every game I see him. I know you love your hard little blokes, but you need some athletic, can play any position, run the game out like a rover, and kick both feet type of guys. Ok maybe I'm jumping on the bandwagon just a little (slight sarcasm there), and yes your right he and along with a few others will be tested in the next few weeks.

Could you let me know how Markovic (6) and Kelleher (35) travel on Sunday as I'm impressed with them.

Cheers

Markovic was solid on occasions but beaten in the ruck and around the ground by Trent West. IMHO West is shaping as one of the best all around ruckman i the TAC at this stage. Marko needs to do more around the ground. Still undecided about his overall mobility as KP player (as a possible AFL player)

Kelleher lowered his colour's to Lachlan Hansen (195cm) who is a very agile and solid defender. Hansen recently returned from the Ireland tour and is too young to draft this year. I look forward to watching Keller in other games against good opposition to see how he goes.

Yeh mcguinnes is a gun, should get drafted coz hes a good bloke. great work ethic, could play cricket too, a gun at that aswell

Thanks for that.
On Markovic, although I believe he has played his junior footy as a ruckman I don't see him as the next level (AFL) ruckman. I don't think any of the 3 that play at Eastern are genuine ruckman, I think their best bets are as KP players. Would like to see Eastern use him and the other 2 as focal points now and then to get a true indication, rather than just clearing space for Kelleher.

Interesting you had Wood in the Vic metro initial list on one of the other threads. Doesn't look like he is hungry enough in the games I've seen and this translates into his attack on the ball.
