Does anyone have particular ways to play Roulette?

I'm always patient playing it. Instead of being greedy and betting on every spin, my ratio is more like one in every three. Sometimes I'll bet three, four or even five times in a row. Othertimes I'll sit there for about five minutes without placing a bet. I do this for two reasons:

1) To analyse patterns of odds vs evens, high vs low, black vs red, etc.
2) To laugh at all those who lose $100 within five minutes.

As for the types of bets I place, I have various combinations.

First of all, I don't play on the tables that have the double zero. I find it much easier to sit at a screen at the Casino, and they only have one zero.

$5 on the top row to win $15
$10 on the red to win $20.
If red hits, I make a $5 profit.
If the top row hits, I'm a 67% chance of making a $20 profit. The other 33% chance means I will break even.

Same theory applied for the second row. $5 on the middle row to win $15 at 2-1 odds. Instead, this time, I put $10 on the black as 8/12 numbers in the middle row are black.

Another one I like is $10 on black and $2 on the 10-11-13-14 square, and $2 on the 25-26-28-29 square. Those are the only two squares that will give you three black and one red. Again, maximising your odds.

I know people who put $5 bets on two of the three columns, two of the three thirds, and on either the black or red, and either odd or even. You're only a 2/37 chance of hitting everything, but that will triple your money if you hit. Doesn't sound like much, but the odds of you not hitting anything at all is a 3/37 chance.

The game cannot be beaten, however the best way to play would be to do a superbet.
You place a chip on black which covers all the black numbers. You're now obviously exposed to red numbers and zero. Because the third column has 8 red numbers, you put a chip of the same value on the third column.

If it lands on a black number in the 1st or 2nd column you get your money back (14/37).

If it lands on zero or a red number in the 1st or 2nd column you lose both chips (11/37).

If it lands on a red number in the 3rd column you win one chip (8/37).

If it lands on a black number in the 3rd column you win three chips. (4/37).

Analaysing patterns is just silly because each spin is independent of the previous spins, unless of course your looking for a dealer signature.
You could add a progression onto the superbet and it might improve profits in the short run, but in the long run unless your very lucky your going to lose and im sure you already know that.

Without going over the intricacies of Yarbs' 'superbet' (it's far too early in the morning for mathematics :p), I can pretty much assure you that the odds are in favour of the house no matter what bet you place. The safest bets would be red/black, evens/odds, etc., but I'm guessing you aren't going to play Roulette to play for safe odds. I guess you could go for something like Martingale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_betting_system), which in theory should make you money, though I can't say I've played Roulette before so I'm not sure on betting limits.

I can tell you that your analysis of the hands while you're at the table is completely pointless. To see any sort of meaningful pattern (ie. one that is statistically discernable), you would quite literally have to analyse tens of thousands of spins (and just in case you're thinking that I am exaggerating, I can assure you people have been known to do so).

Point taken, but the reason I created this thread is because I spent about 40 minutes on Roulette yesterday for a $45 profit. In those forty minutes, the zero came up seven times. 31, 35 and 23 all came up three times, while another six numbers came up two times. Funny how most of those numbers were all on the same side of the wheel. I've heard that every Monday morning they adjust the wheel because came the end of the week there is a slight tilt in the wheel. Fact or fiction, I'm not sure, but that appeared to be the way yesterday when most of the numbers were hitting on the same side of the wheel.

Is a piece of crap. They call it the devils game for a reason (all the numbers added together = 666). You literallly cannot win nor can you create a strategy to help alter the odds. I deal it when I can feel ****ed working and just no-one wins.

Roulettte tables take in double the profit of any other table games in the casino for a reason.

Never realsed that about the 666. Nice work.

I just did a simple calculation to confirm it.

The wheel tilt isnt changed every week.... Try like every month. A dealer can spin up the same section of the wheel time and time again if they have enough control over there spins, but most of us dont care enough and just let it rip so we can stare at the wall for 1 minute. If you where there for 2 hours and waited for the change of dealer you would of noticed the difference.

They say the twat who invented roulette was also burnt at the stake in a witch hunt.

I follow my dad's theory, 5 on Zero.

1. It beats everything
2. You watch the people's faces of suffering and have a little giggle to yourself when it comes up.

Black 22 works well for me. I was waiting for the mrs to come out of the toilet and was standing next to roulette. Chucked 5 bucks on 22, bam, comes out and I have $180 in my hand. Embers is right though the game is a piece of shit, after dealing at the casino for a year I've realised that all casino's are inherently evil. Just laugh at the idiots pissing their money away.
